@jasoncrandall .... I am a firm believer that anyone that runs from LEOs should have their vehicle seized and it becomes property of that Law Enforcement department. They could convert it to a LE vehicle or sell/auction it. All funds go to purchasing LE equipment, possibly more vehicles,. And the 'runner' should forfeit the right to drive for years, up to 10 years depending on damages caused, speed, length of pursuit, etc. If a gun, rifle or drugs/paraphernalia are found in the vehicle it's automatically 10 years. All that starts after any other charges and/or warrants are handled, of course. These extreme pursuits must have serious consequences otherwise the Wussy Punks will continue to escalate their terroristic attacks on innocent citizens.

@@galady8632 I want to add that we should find a way to get attempted vehicular manslaughter in the laws. Doing 100+ mph against traffic doing ~70 means a 170mph speed difference. That's 3 miles a minute or ~250 ft per second. There is no reaction time. These people are willingly, purposely, putting other people in danger, and the law should treat them as such.

Generally you don't PIT unless you have backup there. Most likely your car will be past before stopping, and if they jump and run, you will never see them. A follow-up car to stop at the PIT can see whom jumps out. Now inthe case of immediate danger to others, a PIT to stop the other car is fully justified.
