I did Mission Space when it first opened, before Green was even an option. When I got off the ride, it was one of the weirdest experiences I've ever had in my life. I wasn't nauseus; I wasn't dizzy; I just felt very strange. It's almost indescribable. I've only done Green ever since, so I haven't ever felt it again, but still...I remember distinctly wondering, "Is this what dying feels like?" It was just this very odd sensation.

I just wanted to let Fiasco know that I think his lists are useful. If you are the kind of person who likes a chill ride and doesnt do well with more jarring experiences then this is a great list. Even though I enjoy the intense rides there are times when Fiasco's recommendations would make for a pretty great day.
@thommichaels65935 жыл бұрын
As father of the bride;I told the story of my first time on teacups with my daughters who were under10.they turned the wheel like they were driving a semi truck doing a figure eight.when I exited the ride,I could not eat or drink for almost 90 minutes.it was my first story in the dad’s toast and got lotsa laughs.

I'm not medically cleared to go on Mission Space, so I feel him. I legit feel him on that. Even with the Non-Intense version, I got a headache. I can never leave this planet, it seems.

I totally agree with Star Tours. I want to love it, but it borderline ruins my day when I am foolish enough to attempt it. I love everything about Star Tours right up to the point when the actual ride starts.
@allenthomas50465 жыл бұрын
The motion sickness explains so much about Fiasco's lists. I love hearing everyone's best and worsts. So entertaining. Love the orange side of Mission Space but I don't typically get sick on rides.
@melissaslater59435 жыл бұрын
I also have issues with some simulators- not so much Star Tours (although I definitely couldn't ride it more than a few times in a row) - but the ones at Universal. I don't have an issue with Mission Space at all - ride orange every time. It's the jerky simulators that get me the most.
@pablodokken5 жыл бұрын
I am with you 100%. I have suffered motion sickness all my life and every time I go to a carnival, I'm the one not getting into any ride. Thankfully, Disney has a variety of attractions that don't cause this. Little anecdote here, when video games start being more 3D instead of 2D, I literally stopped playing because of this too. BTW, you got me looking into Canobie Lake Park videos.
@llouie49995 жыл бұрын
I'm glad to know I'm not the only one where it's likely the combo of 3D glasses & motion simulator. For Star Tours I've found I have an easier time in the middle and especially in the back (the top right corner is the worst). I miss the old Star Tours terribly because I never used to get sick with it. Fortunately for me, ironically, the newest planets (Jakku and Crait) are easier for me to handle. Also I admire those of you tough enough to manage Mission Space. I went on there once and I joke I could feel where my wisdom teeth used to be.
@stevesoares26465 жыл бұрын
I totally agree. I have motion-sickness as well. There was a time when the majority of WDW rides were gentle. It seems like most of the newer attractions are the whirl-and-hurl type!
@christmasebes80985 жыл бұрын
The thing I hate most about Star Tours is the people yelling at the top of their lungs like the ride is going extremely fast when in reality it’s not. It ruins the entire ride if no one can hear the dialogue on what’s going on.

Great list! I appreciate you identifying what younger you liked vs. now. My first and only time on mission space was in 2005. It was so bad for me that I spent like 30 mins. in a custodial closet near the exit being sick. Poor cast member was nice enough to go get me a new shirt. I’d be shocked if no one quit their job after my messy experience. 😬 I still feel bad all these years later!
@nokrepkie5 жыл бұрын
The space Mountain thing is mostly because of the manufacturer of the ride. WDW version is made by vekoma which is known for being rough as hell. But DL version is made by arrow Dynamics, and is a bit more smooth, especially with the better trains in Disneyland.

Has Fiasco done Smugglers Run yet? I’m curious if he was fine experiencing it or not. I’m a huge Star Wars fan but also can’t do Star Tours at all because of motion sickness. I agree with Fiasco. I only rode Star Tours once. It made me so sick 🤢. I refuse to try Mission Space because I know I will more than likely 🤮. I too close my eyes during the “spinning” bubble tunnel on The Living Seas with Nemo & Friends because if I don’t I feel sick. Love these shows!

I was great with Star Tours until I turned 35. Suddenly, simulators started making me motion sick. And it's not the simulator so much as the combination simulator and 3-D glasses. Either one on their own, I am fine with. It's the combination that kills me.

Worst 5: 1)Primeval whirl 2)Mission Space (Orange) 3) It’s tough to be a bug 4)Tomorrowland speedway 5)Teacups (we should have DL Alice ride instead) or Splash Mt (I don’t like the bumpy drops and they detract from an otherwise classic dark ride)

Now even an act of Congress couldn’t get me anywhere near that ride. I don’t even really miss it either. Now I’m more of a People Mover kind of guy!!! LOL!!! Thanks for sharing.

I used to be able to handle ANY ride. Now I can't do spinning, I can only go on Mission Space green now, can't do the tea cups. Well unless I take Dramamine..... I also agree that Space Mountain is such a different experience depending on the seat. We just went to MK and rode it twice. My daughter sat in the back (#6) and the very front and said it was really different.

Corey do you and Ryno remember the Caterpillar ride, it went in a circle and then covered you up. Ugh that always made me sick.

Disney, please hear what is being said. Update Space Mountain to a smoother ride track. Also a huge missed opportunity by not updating the Speedway to something futuristic by using electric cars at a minimum. These rides are in Tomorrowland, so lets make these two ride more futuristic and update them both to the new Disney standards that are being set on newer rides around WDW. Also, please put something cool and futuristic in the Stitch building. Come on Disney, you are so much better than this. As Walt said, you have to keep moving forward.

Great list, Corey! I love Star Tours BUT I don't love the new movies. So I appreciate Craig giving a shoutout to the original ride very much. IMO, the Star Wars movies ended in 1983. They were magic! I was so upset to see my beloved big three reduced to what TFW did. Space Mountain cars make me feel super fat. Do not like TTS either - don't even walk over there. Tea Cups - nearly puked on it as a child and that was the end of that. I take photos and videos of everyone else. Craig - sorry but I NEVER think tossing my cookies is a blast. I went on Mission Space with my younger son on the mild side and it was okay. But I would never have gone on it if I'd had to wait. I also dislike Tough to be a Bug because I don't like listening to terrified children or being poked in the back by hornets!

I wanted to throw in my two cents on the Tomorrowland speedway. Your opinion will change when you have kids. This is something that very young children can do and be in control. As the parent you control the gas and brake and let the kids go. This was one of my two year olds favorites because he got to drive the car. He's too little to go on standard go-karts so this was a very big deal. I know it's not for everyone and, yeah, they could maybe switch to electric or something to eliminate the smell, but don't underestimate how cool this is for very young kids.

I don’t think “worst” is the right word for a list of attractions that cause you discomfort. It’s still a worthy personal list, but it deserves a different title.
@luuchoo935 жыл бұрын
I disagree about Space Mountain. I’ve been to Disneyland and Disney World and I much prefer the Orlando version, which is definetly scarier, bumpier and more thrilling overall (Disneyland’s has a strong ending though). I think the small uncomfortable seats make you feel “less protected” when you are riding in the dark, which makes it much better than Disneyland, since it’s a roller coaster after all. Disneyland has the soundtrack but that’s about it. The queue is so sad that I cant even begin to describe it

As someone who isn't a Star Wars fan (don't hate it, just never got into it) . I agree Star Tours is just a bunch of rocking around. I also don't care for Space mountain it's very jarring. And I LOVE thrill rides. But this isn't fun it's just jerky. Yup Tomorrowland speedway sucks. It's sooo boring! Mad Tea is trash. I have all of these on my worst as well. lol
@yesorlando055 жыл бұрын
I like Corey's list because it shows just how different people really are. Many people can't ride some of these attractions because of motion sickness or various other reasons. I can do a little spinning, but something like the Tea Cups makes me very sick afterwards. Yet, if I do the mild version of Mission Space, I love it! Though I it's a classic, I hate "It's a Small World". To me, it's very boring, repetitive, and annoying. But I respect others who like that ride and wouldn't want to see it go. I like Star Tours a lot, but can totally understand why Corey doesn't. Plus, there are varying degrees to a person's like or dislike of an attraction, so it's not totally black or white. Lots of grey areas. Now, I don't like Tomorrowland Speedway at all. It's hot, boring, long queue, and does have the smell of fuel. But I do agree with Craig that some people overly exaggerate the fuel smell as if it's creating its own personal hole in the ozone layer, lol. Yes, there are a few people who can greatly go overboard. But, as a whole, I think many (maybe even most) people need to be more respectful of others opinions, experiences, and sensitivities. I was a little disappointed that Corey felt apprehensive about his lists because he was worried about backlash from people who wouldn't agree with him. There's no right or wrong, just different preferences from each individual. I really like the best/worst lists from each person. Great show!
