Hello does anyone know if fiat 640 gearbox and hydraulic/rear differential have the same oil or they are separate because i want to check it at my friend's fiat 640. I have a fiat 980 and mine are separate thanks.

Fiat 640 use the same oil for gear box, rear axle and hydraulics. Reduction gears and front axle are separate. It even says so on the dipstick next to the gear levers.

Ragzzi , grazie dell iscrizione al gruppo , volevo chiedere ho un fiat 640 rimesso in moto dopo qualche anno di fermo in garage chiuso , tutto va bene , tranne il sollevatore che non alza , ho provato ad aggiungere olio , a pulire il filtro , vedere se le valvole funzionano , se la pompa funziona , tutto va bene ma non alza e non da segni di vita.cosa potrei fare ?? Smo tare il pistone e cambiare tutte le guarnizioni e oring gommini ecc.?? Datemi una risposta grazie !!

- it is named Nastro d'Oro ... 4-cylinder 4-stroke diesel engine, 3432ccm; 64 bhp at 2450 rpm; CAV diesel-injection pump; 2800kg weigh; frontaxis is same as 850 DT frontaxis,very useful when payloader equipped; rear axis is a portal-axis in forward laying position 90 degrees,ends of portal-axis are stocky for more tug power; gearshift for 4wd is straight through without sliding-clutch, sometimes its not possible to engage 4WD under tug or drifting rear-wheels, better tractor stands still for engaging; 8 gears forward, 2 rearward; forewarming-function for cold starts ; the spring of hydraulic steering stick for payloader is very famous, it breaks after approx. every several years of use, breaks again and again... ; 25 km/h ; one day we operated him carefully in front of 3m MASCHIO fresatrici zapatrici on heavy grounds, that was at his total engine limit ; two versions of hydraulic-steering where built, the one with diameter in the middle under the tractor-front is problem-maker at times, better is with hydraulic steering-cylinder sideways :) have fun with it , if you can get one , because it makes fun to use :)
