The Fiat Barchetta has the same sort of door handle. My Barchetta was a pain to get to a state where it actually doesn't leak oil or cooling- or petrol. But once they fixed its a fun roadster with a lot of nice details and a beautiful styling.

The FIAT Barchetta is a lovely little car and doesn’t get the attention that it deserves. The body was built by Maggiora in Chivasso near Turin and they were also the Coachbuilder responsible for the construction of the Maserati Mistral which if you are watching the channel you will know I have a big interest in. The stylish little FIAT was there last hurrah as sadly the factory closed soon after the Barchetta production ended.

One of my all time favourite cars. I put the 850 sport coupe in my 1958 Multipla. I love these old Fiats, the Zagato is the best!

Mines a 1958, it was featured in Classic and Sportscar July 2021. It drives really well with that engine. I could have put an A112 engine in it but then the brakes and suspension couldn't cope with 70bhp. Italian cars are so stylish and beautiful, you can never have too many!@@marksitaliangarage

@@autouniontypeA The Revs institute in Florida have recently put an A112 engine in their Multipla . They have a video of it on their website or something which is worth a watch. But yes I agree with you a bit to racy for it . Have you seen the one on my Mille Miglia film we drove past it up in the mountains ? I have an A112 ABARTH which I have owned for 30 years and a 600 not to mention the TCR project !

I have a 1958 Record Monza that is just coming to the end of a multi-year restoration. It is having an A112 Abarth engine. That did require a change of gearbox, too.

We did film a start up but it didn’t make it into the film but you can hear it in the beginning of the film. We were on a really tight schedule so that’s all that we got !

No no ! Non diciamo Fanfalucche ! Karl Abarth era Italiano, suo padre e suo nonno sono Italiani di Merano, non era Austriaco, suo padre Karl senior aveva sposato Dora Taussing di Vienna, Karl junior è nato a Vienna ma suo padre e suo nonno italiani, e nel 1945 divenne cittadino italiano, quindi il 31 marzo 1949 giorno di fondazione della ABARTH &C tra Carlo Abarth e Armando Scagliarini era cittadino Italiano e quando prese la cittadinanza italiana, cambio' il nome da Karl in Carlo, questa è la vera storia di Carlo Abarth, non c'entra niente il piu' amichevole Carlo che Karl, non diciamo cose non vere, basta leggere e documentarsi per raccontare le cose come stanno la storia va letta e studiata non inventata. Grazie !

Thank you for your comment and the information about ABARTH history. My comment was intended to introduce the fact that Carlo ABARTH was not born Italian but became Italian. Carlo is more friendly sounding than Karl was used in a light hearted manner certainly not as fact! Many people have no clue about the lineage behind the ABARTH badge on the modern cars probably just assume that it is something made up for marketing. So the information in the video is more of an introduction to Carlo ABARTH and his cars with the hope that viewers will become interested enough to research further. There is more ABARTH content on the channel and if people watch this they might just become more interested in all things ABARTH ! In my videos I often mention that there is more information about a specific subject and that further information is available if people want to find out more. Please continue to comment on the channel as it will help bring more knowledge to the viewers.
