Your intro’s are KILLING ME 😂 Nothing, just a cheeky look.. No ”hey guys” nonsense. My 2nd favourite channel after Harrys Garage. Keep it up!

Coolant cap needs to be on for fan to kick in as needs to be under pressure

Lol had a good laugh when you recorded half of your faces 😂. What a wiring mess and engine does sound good

The coolant system is self-bleeding (hence no bleed points) so there shouldn’t be an air lock. At the most a few firm squeezes of the rad hoses should be all that’s needed to push out any air, but I’ve never had to do any bleeding on any UT’s I’ve worked on. Header tank cap needs to be fitted when running up to temperature as it holds the system under pressure thus lowers the boiling point of the coolant. Rad fan temp sensor switches at two set temperature points. First one takes the fan to GROUND (not “earth” - that’s for houses 😉) via the resistor for slow speed and the second takes the fan directly to ground for full speed. Easy to test with a multimeter when running the engine up to temp as it should show continuity across its terminals 1 > 2 and 1 > 3 even if not wired up correctly. Also, it may just be the audio but the starter motor doesn’t sound happy against the ring gear (not meshing nicely). Had that once on a mk1 UT fitted with a mk2 starter so maybe the other way around in this case.

I had a well used 23 year old Tipo 1.4 i.e. with basically the same engine… it started getting hard to start by bogging down or sticking before the starter would spin… I took the starter motor out and looked at the flywheel ring as I rotated it… on one side the teeth were very worn and mullered due to the engine tending to stop in a regular place… the starter gear would jam on the ring when trying to mesh…. It was always a sod to bleed the coolant… for some reason the 1.6 had a bleed valve on a hose but not the 1.4.

Same as vauxhaull corsa etc self bleeding needs driving then top up if needed

Cooling system needs to be sealed, put the cap on and wait for fan to kick in, water boils at 100deg in earths atmosphere, but if you seal the system it will pressurise and allow it to boil later much like how a pressure cooker is used it's pressurised so it can cook food faster and the water turns to steam at a higher temperature

Coolant header tanks split, mine did back in 1999

I'm fairly certain that the system self bleeds through that pipe that comes back to the top of the header tank which should show a constant flow, if not, it's blocked. On Alfa Twin Sparks it runs from the Thermostat housing which is where the blockage often happens, possibly the same arrangement on the Fiat.
