I'm the same as you with these types of blends I would strip all the colours and then make bundles of smaller parts to get it striping the put ut on 3 bobbins and do a 3 ply or all on 1 bobbin qnd chain ply it, and I don't like singles either or art yarns lol but this yarn turn out amazing. I think your hair looks lovely 😍 xx

I loved how your blended batts turned out! I think I liked the less blended ones the best. I suck at corespinning. I have to figure out how not to get too much twist in my core.

Oh my gosh that is so incredible. I feel exactly how you described feeling about the original fiber, and that feeling is what holds me back from subscriptions. You have me seriously rethinking the Paradise box, because you turned "I would cry if I'd paid for that box and that fiber showed up at my door" into "I must have it, I wonder if anyone is destashing it on Ravelry....". So, so amazing.

I loved your blending experiment! Such amazing colours you got too. Like Tracy said, I would have never thought thr colours you got after blending would have come from the roving you started with! They really remind me of the rovings John Arbon (a spinning company in the UK) sells. I would have loved to spin each of those blends. Not sure I am a big fan of art yarns full stop, but I really loved seeing how you did it - and admiring your skill. It looked super hard juggling all those different components at the same time. Don't think I will be trying thaf anytime soon on my Turkish spindle... 😂

The "sunset vibe" one is my favorite I think but I like them all. Outside with fiber...nice. It snowed here again today. I didn't expect the shiny thread to show and make it glitter as much as it did. That would probably be pretty in some sort of bag or woven wall hanging.

Arrghh all the fluff on the licker would drive me insane 🤣 Bet it would make a pretty mini batt though. Wow, the colours in the braid were a bit much for me to begin with, but blending them worked so well, they look fab...especially being able to create so many different looks 😍 Love the finished yarn, but I'm slightly biased as it's one of my fav yarns to spin 😁 Have you decided what you're going to do with the yarn?
@vcuchica2 жыл бұрын
Ok, first off! Love the your hair in the first clip! Like Farrah Faucet! The batts came out beautifully as well as the yarn!! Why did you decide to add the tinsel while spinning instead of while carding? Just curious! Great video!

I have been spinning for 15 years and I don't know much about core spinning. Perhaps a basic video or questions answered when you do an "answer" video. Do you treadle slower? What makes a good core? Thanks for the consideration. Blessings.

good call, Gerry! all the core spinning I've done was practice on that bobbin led wheel of mine - would love to have more insight into producing a real yarn out of it.

I love your haircut, I think it suits you. do you need to drum the fiber before you spin it or could you spin it as it was?
@Which-Craft2 жыл бұрын
omigosh I think you just answered my question about whether to weave from the single. Dunno if you've seen my spin of the same on the group (WIP), but it's definitely not suitable for a ply. I wonder if core spun is my answer (because really hesitant to weave from singles). How on earth did you do the icy blue blend? They're all gorgeous, but that one - WOW how?
@gerryivkovich18572 жыл бұрын
Sorry, one more question. Where did you find a cone of such thin silvery goodness? I love sparkle.

Love the way you got so many different blends out of one top. Just starting to learn how to spin so to will be quite some time before I try a wrapped core but what you got was so pretty. What will you do with it?
@danielleh59112 жыл бұрын
I LOVE the way the top turned out after you carded it! But know I have questions. How do you decide on what to use for the core? Would crochet thread work or is that too thin? And other than weaving what kind of project would you use core-spun (and other art yarns) in?

What will you use it for?
@carrietreder84742 жыл бұрын
Your hair does look cute and retro! I get it though. I tried a center part for a couple of days because it was “the style” and hated it on me. Polwarth and silk?!?! 😍♥️ I called Paradise and got a second box in March because I love the fiber so much. Now I think I’m going to blend them in a similar way, but a little less blended. One, maaaaybe two passes on the carder. And probably add sparkle. Because sparkle. A question: is there any benefit to a corespun yarn vs a chunky single? Is the difference very visible? Either way, your yarn turned out so pretty! Do *you* like it though?
