Why in Canada are we so behind in our resources and support for this ? I was diagnosed in 2017 and basically left to figure out so much on my own it’s really really frustrating so many countries seem to be more knowledgeable then Canada on fibromyalgia

I’m sorry you’re having such a rough time. It took 3 years for me to find the right doctors and then finally the right combination of medications. I hope you’re able to find the help that you deserve.

It’s a total crapshoot if you can find doctors with any understanding of fibromyalgia even here in the United States in the two very “medically advanced“ cities of Boston in San Francisco that I have lived in.

Had the same experience here east coast USA. No one seems to know anything. I got more help from a chiropractor than my doctor (nutritional advice, practical exercises that don't make my body ache for days).

Helpful , I’ve had a whole life living with fibromyalgia, childhood trauma makes sense now. I was about 4 years old when a doctor told my mother there was nothing wrong with me and she was to take me home and give me a good spanking. I hid behind fibromyalgia in fear of being spanked and hurt more. I’m guessing now to spank a child with fibromyalgia would hurt more than average. I thought as a child everyone has this pain and it was normal and I was ashamed to talk about it. I wear my badge of honour proud to acknowledge I have fibromyalgia and I’m not disgusted in myself anymore. If any doctors read this please be mindful and respectful to the poor patients who have it. Hopefully future generations won’t suffer the way we do. 60 had two heart attacks , now fibromyalgia gives me the false pain of attacks almost daily , some sort of neurological damage where my brain does not acknowledge I’ve been fixed. My heart is fine but the pain remains.

Chest pain from costochondritis can feel like a heart attack and occurs frequently as a fibro symptom. Must be extremely unnerving have had 2 actual heart attacks! Costochondritis pain can be positional. I’ve found relief many times by laying prone and doing deep breathing.
