I was told to install the adjustable chin rest requires drilling into the body of the violin, true????

Hi! Not true at all. Those instruments come built with an area that takes the adjustable chin and shoulder rest.

Also, those components like the adjustable shoulder rest are designed solely for the NS Design instruments. We have had customers in the past that try to incorporate that to their instruments against our recommendations.

Did you put any other effects on this violin besides the reverb of the amp? When other people are playing that violin on KZbin (I mean the reviews, not any arrangements) it sounds way worse. Does it have to do with the violin or the playing skills?

I have an NS Wav 4 string and mostly play just amplified with no effect. I'm very happy with the tone. It is a heavy violin, and I nearly returned it due to neck pain. After fiddling with the shoulder rest height, I set it a bit higher than my acoustic and have been playing happily for over a year.

impedance matching is the difference. loading down a passive pickup with a low impedance input reduces sound quality. any preamp with an ultra high impedance input will improve sound quality.

I get a lot of bow noise on my WAV4 when I shuffle. Also the G string is really too loud. Did anybody else have this problem or a solution?

Is there a type of bow that would work well for being electric, or could I use my normal bow?

Yeah, just the same bow you use for your acoustic violin will work just as well. One possible caveat would be if you play significantly different on your electric vs. acoustic, i.e. maybe you play very cautiously acoustically, and you're wild electrically and spin your bow like a lightsaber...Then maybe you'd want a stronger, or lighter, or more durable bow for when you play electrically.

@@pierrelacazotte8376 I liked the sound and how easy it was to tune but I did end up sending it back, partially because the one I got had a manufacturing defect, but mainly because I found it quite uncomfortable to play regularly due to how heavy it is. I've got a yamaha Yev 104 now and I'm loving it, though I'm a begginer as well so I can't play much.

Yes. You need to have a wireless transmitter which can handle a very high impedance.

Yes, you can get them with frets. And having a five string helps you play in the alto cleff rangr of a viola with the C string. You basically have the violin and viola on one instrument. You can play wider chords too.

Michael plays that thing and sneezes rather harshly... his left hand shoots off the top and the chin grip fail dropping the critter hard on the floow. BUT no one could tell if it was smashed from the looks of it... LOL To me it looks like a machine gun with strings on it.

haha! This is not that far from a legit nightmare I had the other night - I dreamed that I went to an audition and wanted to play Bartok concerto number 2, and started right out by playing a B-flat instead of B-natural. The panel shouted "Thank You!" and I asked if I could play Tchaikovsky instead. They said no, then I woke up.

Electric violins are trash .acoustic violines way convenient, just try to lure the huminbirds ,they love to listen the wooden acoustic violin .the natural sound of the wood.
