Tamil naming customs are to give people a single name and to use their father's name only to distinguish when there are multiple people with the same name. So Rameshbabu alone refers to their father, and you'd only say Rameshbabu Vaishali if there was another Vaishali that you might be referring to. I say "Tamil" on purpose here, there's no such thing as a standard way of doing names in India as a whole. There are at least six different sets of naming customs in India. Marathi customs, as with Vidit Santosh Gujrathi, are to have a personal name, a patronymic and a true surname (ie one that is inherited by their children, unlike a patronymic). Telegu names, like Dommaraju Gukesh, have a true surname (in his case Dommaraju), but the convention is not to use the surname alone, and they are normally abbreviated, so D. Gukesh or Gukesh D.
