Wow for me that was nostalgia in 8 minutes! Sidley woods, crowhurst, backyard and Fids! As a rider of the same age I remember him coming onto the scene, his video parts were often sketchy and the crashes were never edited out. Fids encapsulated what BMX meant at that time, I bought a S&M dirt bike because of him and still own the skull T-shirt to this day, it doesn’t fit but it has a special place in my wardrobe. It cannot be underestimated what Fids did for the scene, his attitude and riding inspired not only me but uk bmx also. Rest in peace Fids a true legend ❤

As a young kid, his BMX Inferno part blew my mind - I couldn't believe someone could ride BMX and skate a vert ramp equally well. Ran into him one time in Hastings many years later and fanned out and probably made him uncomfortable. Legends Never Die.

Same thing, he was sitting outside source Park, I rode past then doubled back to tell him about the yellow dirt bike poster on my wall as a kid. He said it was taken just up the road and I should visit the trails there. Loved his stories on IG, it helped me get through the lock down times. I imagine him as a totally free spirit now

Me too! I also told him when I met him at the Backyard Jam in ’02 that I had a poster of him doing a nothing on the trails on my wall, and I even sang Hellion to him-albeit with the wrong lyrics. He was so cool and easygoing. Really sad news about his passing. RIP The Fids 😢🌟❤️

Fids part on the S&M Video 4 is one the most iconic parts in BMX history to me. His style was so wild. Went perfect with WASP "Hellion." Years later I had the pleasure of meeting him at 9th street. I've seen a lot of big names show up there, but few get a reaction like Fids. Folks certainly loved him. Sad to hear about his passing, wishing his friends and family peace and comfort. Nothing but love from BMX community

Bike 99 as a teenager watching him send it nothings to flat over the spine and realising "Holy shit that's Fids!". That summer at the Urban Games I got a photo with him and my bro, he then went and gapped the entire with of the street course. Legendary guy

I know fidds , he used to live in Canterbury in England during 94ish and he helped us local kids build a skatepark in a disused bus garage. He was a top guy then and doesn’t seemed to have changed with success 🫡 Edit : I just realised he passed away 😥
