If you're rich, get the MixPre 3 II. You won't have to touch that gain knob if you use 32 bit float mode. It has enough dynamic range to recover the sounds without clipping post processing. The Zoom F3 recorder is more affordable and has 32 bit float mode also.

The recording device "MixPre 3" only costs $895, so it should be affordable... Oh, and each of the parabolic microphones are around $1000-$1500. Definitely not a cheap sport for normal folks.
