Nice one Ronny I love it up there at Groverake and remember it all working, the old miner's shop and manager's house were all intact then in the 70s shame when the fires stop burning weather soon gets in and damp and the vandals get to work like they have things start falling down, the headgear needs a good coat of paint, the place has its own weather patterns and gets hard in winter in that valley, Neville Richardson and his brother Malcolm worked there for a time I forget the manager's name now, A bloody wet pit that was and still is mostly flooded now and lots of roof falls and collapses, Frazers hush is all well underwater now, thank's for bringing back some great memories I'll be up again soon to old Nenthead, you need to go and have a look up at huntsanwerth and whiteheaps mine full of history matey plenty of big mines there

At 11:17 there used to be a portal head on and red vein to the left both landscaped about 6 years ago.

15:24 I can recall the bridge crossing the road. The Army demolished it one weekend for training purposes , that would be about 1966. As for the Rookhope Arch, I'm sure there were more than one still standing in the 60's. Before that high tensile wire fence was put up at the roadside we used to picnic by the rivers edge and I recall collecting fist sized lumps of flourspar that lay about all over in the gravels.

Stop worrying about the quality. Commentary makes up for that, video is more than good enough to get a feel for the place 👍
