People say he nicked jokes from Bernard Manning, but although Bernard was very funny, personally I thought Mike Reid's delivery was better. He put some huge effort into each joke. Brilliant.

Funny how some accuse Reid of stealing Manning's jokes. Listen to Jethro interview and he openly admits that many jokes are as old as the hills (words to that effect) and reused many a time and by many. Pre TV and now internet musical hall comedians could use the same material night after night. A different world and and different time. Some of the jokes are, in my opinion only, in poor taste and certainly even make me cringe today but the vast majority are only not acceptable today as we have become so precious. For the most part he only uses stereotypes rather than actual individuals unlike some of the recent comedians who often use a real person as the butt of a joke. As others have pointed out there are only so many jokes/scenarios ( a bit like musical cords and phrases) so almost inevitable that the same jokes will go around. Mike Reid love or loathe had brilliant timing and delivery. Some of his jokes made me genuinely laugh out loud. If someone was/is not comfortable with this style of blue humour then don't watch/listen.
