Crow is modelling shooting clothing - and where better to do that than a shoot? He is out with Paul Childerley in Bedfordshire, trying not to out-shoot his neighbours. Meanwhile, Edward King is back (yes, we let him back) to talk about the right clothing to wear on shoots. And Tim Pilbeam is explaining straight-pull rifles with the help of a Blaser, a Browning and Merkel. There is News Stump and Hunting KZbin in yet another packed #FieldsportsBritain.

For those of us not from the UK who are just getting into driven shooting, the basics provided in Mr. King's segments are very informative. There is not a great deal of information on these subjects on KZbin and these short segments help fill a rather large information gap. Many thanks!

I must say, I like the shirts and ties worn by Andy and David; wish i could find these here in Canada. Really interesting show this week Charlie, as always, but this one has a lot of differing subjects , quite good I think.

Charlie it would be have been a lot easier to re-edit Mr King's section from last week than to make a piss take of the those who legitimately pointed out it's manifest shortcomings. I find Mr King's pontification grating (his smarmy Flashmanesque 'persona' reminds me of an ex-Guard's Officer I had the dubious pleasure of shooting with once) and it detracts from the excellent bits of the show like Tim Pilbeam's review of straight-pull rifles.

My oh my. So many people have their noses out of joint again this week. The piece on shooting fashion was informative, and of obvious value to those who wish to partake in formal shoots whilst tipping their hats to the rich history and customs of the sport. You don't HAVE to dress like that to shoot. Find a less formal shoot and see if you can blag an invite. Aspire to shoot at a more formal affair and be prepared to conform - simple. It's all theatre after all, and a bit of fun to dress up.

Well Charlie I can tell you I was not offended by what Edward King said last week. I was more shock and how stupid his advice was. And this week in the attempts to "clear things up" it was poor too. It was simply BAD advice no matter what the law stated. Also you need to remember your show reaches many parts of the UK where firearm laws and storage are different so I suggest if there is a next time you guys take a more sensible approach.

Not too sure on the clarification re Edwards major faux pas last week Charlie, unless you are classing the gun moving from the cabinet to the front door as a "journey". I think your firearms officer would expect your gun to be securely locked away not propped by the front door overnight if you are still at home. No mention of the extremely poor gun handling shown in last weeks episode either. Never normally comment on videos but as this was so appalling felt it was necessary!

Leaving your shotgun and cartridges by the door is simply poor practical regardless of the legal requirement. It would perhaps be better to suggest leaving the empty slip on the door as a reminder to take the gun is better, rather than dismissing those who picked up on a bad habit. I agree that Mr Kings pompous approach puts me off attending formal game shoots, and detracts from an otherwise great show.

Moving your gun from your cabinet to propping it next to your door for tomorow monirng is NOT a journey. I think the quote you displayed in today's episode relates to if for example goign overnight with your firearm and having to stay in a hotel or some other accommodation where secure storage as a safe is not available.

Great show. Even better if the photographer pretending to shoot Mr Crow took the cap of the camera lens. It's all in the detail.

That's a great explanation - 'while the requirements to keep firearms securely are statutory, there are no statutory provisions on how this duty is discharged'. Try explaining to your local police force that you felt the need to keep your shotgun un-secure just in case you forgot to take it..........guess what, I would imagine you'd have your license revoked on the spot for such idiotic behaviour. Not sound advice in any way shape or from.

That Edward describing how to dress in three piece suits etc.for drives, is the exact stencil of how people from outside the shooting fraternity think those in the fraternity act and dress in the UK. A code for the rich and "old boys" school. Tweed shirts, ties, barbour jackets, wellies. Surely in the 21st Century, it is time to take the sport away from the upper echelons of the rich society and back to those who cant afford three piece suits, etc. and barely can afford the shotgun shells. There is enough red tape in obtaining an FAC license without this bureaucratic crap on having to dress appropriately for a shoot. Surely staying warm and dry is the important thing not showing off how rich you are with designer dress attire such as waist coat or "Gilet" or £2,000 designer tweed cap and matching ties with little birds or dogs on them. If this is what shooting is about, I think I may just give it a miss. In fact, Im really struggling to see the need to shoot so many birds at once when you don't eat all them yourself. I have always struggled to understand how shotgun shells can be a clean kill, and even in this video, you see many birds flying off after being shot. I think the shotgun was invented for the rich and royals to make sure the shot pattern was wide enough to maim their quarry so they looked like a good shot own the field.

Crap show this week. Should have been more of Crow and Paul's shoot. The lesson in sartorial etiquette was/is pointless and does nothing to endear the sport to anyone coming in. Straight pull could have been summed up in 30s!

Lake Fork Guy! Please pray for LFG (last clip in the youtube hunting) . He was diagnosed with a brain tumor and has to have surgery this fall, and to top it off his insurance policy was a scam so he is left to pay it out of pocket. He has a page set up to help called Make Every Cast Count (google it).

In the US hunting is a right enjoyed by every common man regardless of wealth or status like is stated in our constitution "every man is created equal". In the UK it is very pretentious and insulting. Wearing stylish clothing, nice shirts and ties in the woods or bush is massively obscene. I think it has something to do with the hardship and death of the frontiersman and wearing dress clothing in their house of hardship.

What do "we lot" dress like in your minds eye? flip flops, sunnies, board shorts and singlet? Too much Home and Away pal. Jeans, polo shirts and boots would sum up 70% of the rural male demographic. This chap on the other hand looked like a complete throbber and encourage the viewing public to join in and meet standards. Come on. The days of upstairs downstairs has got to be well and truly behind us?.
