Hello guys please be aware I’m aware that you should pull back the little grey tab parts on the coil pack pigtails but it’s still hard to push down and still get them to release, I found my method to work better but do both. Just be gentle with them.

Great video, thanks for showing that the plug is angled. I was unsuccessful on my first try, will give it another try on the weekend.

@@PeakPerformanceReviews I discovered that the Craftsmen 5/8" spark plug socket was too thick to fit into the small opening. Luckily I had a 16mm deep socket just thin enough to fit in there. Got them changed and I'm hoping the gas mileage improves a bit.

For a stock turbo car with a stock map I would leave the gap, assuming it’s an OEM spark plug?

may i know what is the best gap for RT330? and better use 1 Step Cooler or 2 Step?
@PeakPerformanceReviews
@PeakPerformanceReviews 4 жыл бұрын
Leo Jun Wei imo and from what I’ve always here from the best is 0.26-0.29. Stock is actually fine if not stock just 1 step cooler is fine. I can’t see 2 steps hurting but I can’t say it’ll be needed at the boost levels these kits use imo.

Dksk As thank you so much for the kind words. Personally I change every 3-5k as I do a hell of a lot of track days and hard miles, for a fast road car realistically Iridium plugs can and will be fine for 15-20k+ I’d personally change every year or every 15-20k dependant hard you’ve been on the car. Most people say iridiums have 30k+ life but I wouldn’t leave them that long :-) hope this helps and glad the video help. Stick around and please subscribe as i’d love to hear how you get on :-)

Gary Dace I was given the spec by all tuners that race and track there car and have that level of tune. Mine are absolutely fine. Seems odd, check them again and make sure you’ve gapped them correctly, are they new?

Yes they were new, maybe I'll ask ford to gap them to 0.30 on monday when servicing it,but they will probably tell me they need to go back to stock gap.

Jamie Sweeting I know that, to be honest I forgot to say to do that, they still don’t pull out that easily.... well at least mine didn’t, the little method I used works a treat, just gotta be gentle.

Hey i have a stock fiesta ST and wanna run step 1 colder plugs.....do you suggest .30 for the gap or .26 instead?
@PeakPerformanceReviews
@PeakPerformanceReviews 4 жыл бұрын
Anthony Boyzo personally if your stock standard I would stick to around a 0.30 gap. Anything stage 2 and beyond I’d 100% go with 0.26 from what all tuners have told me. Thanks for watching, please stick around and subscribe as it’ll be great to have you on here.

Which map/flash do you have? I had Revo and I found you need it so did it. They are pre gapped or gapped for what stock is out of the box but I’ve found that a slightly smaller gap is required or was at least for the Revo stage 2, it would miss fire very easily after not many miles if you didn’t do it. Thanks for watching, please stick around and subscribe as it’ll be great to have you around 🙌

@@PeakPerformanceReviews I have a custom remap from a tuner here in Northern Ireland, car running approx 230-240, I’ve never changed my plugs and they are getting changed tomorro just wondering I’m confused what to do as there are so many opinions as I’ve been running it on standard plugs up to now, what do you think? Gap to 0.28?
@PeakPerformanceReviews
@PeakPerformanceReviews 3 жыл бұрын
@@charlieonion9819 if you haven’t had any problems and you haven’t had any break up and you don’t up the power then you can leave the gap as it is out of the box. If really for when you run a map/flash/tune that is running a bit more or quite a lot of boost. A combination of a cooler heat range plug and smaller gap can help. I had problems with mine at Revo stage 2 but if upto now you haven’t had issues you won’t need to bother then. Change plugs none the less but yeah leave gaps as is 🙌

@PeakPerformanceReviews
@PeakPerformanceReviews Жыл бұрын
Thanks Mattia, the stock gaps seem to be around .032-.036. Anywhere around there at stock power is going to be fine .032 the better and aim imo. .026 won’t hurt even at stock power but recommended and worth it at anything higher than stock and especially at stage 2+

@PeakPerformanceReviews
@PeakPerformanceReviews 4 жыл бұрын
Simon G stock gap is about 0.32-38 on a stock plug the gap me and a lot of tuners will recommend is 0.24-28. I wouldn’t know what your gap is on that plug out of its box hence I always personally re gap! Do you have a fillet gauge?
@simong5131
@simong5131 4 жыл бұрын
@@PeakPerformanceReviews yes i have a feeler gauge the pligs are just over 0.30 out if the box im running a miltek and a airtech induction . So if inset these at around 0.25 these should be fine .? It just looks a big drop down from the 1ml they are set to from out the box
@PeakPerformanceReviews
@PeakPerformanceReviews 4 жыл бұрын
Simon G 0.30 will be fine if they all match you could keep them at that, I’d go down to 0.26 if you are 250+bhp only as those maps run a bit more boost.

fluffymat1 I don’t know for sure about the MP215 but in my opinion I would gap the same as I have as it wouldn’t hurt. The moment any ignition is advanced etc from standard I’d advise the closed up gaps we used.

Yeah to be fair they should be spot on or super close but yes I do exactly the same and don’t blame you. 0.032” should be stock spec if I remember rightly which is 0.81mm, 0.71mm is totally fine too I wouldn’t go much smaller than that on a stock car.

Does this gap rule apply to all stage 2 cars?
@PeakPerformanceReviews
@PeakPerformanceReviews 4 жыл бұрын
Sorry only just seen this, it is advised at say a level on map that produces say 235-250bhp kind of range, basically at that level the timers are upping the psi of boost pressure quite a bit and this is when a lower gap is needed. So yes anything normally classed at stage 2 or somewhere near the power I was saying could do with the lowered gap I’ve suggested. You can get away with a stock gap but as it gets some heat cycles in after a hard drive out you may get the stock gap increase a little too much and that’s when you’ll have the problems.
