Ovvy, why does my defence lose their intelligence in the second half? No one holds positions, they slow down, they can no longer cut passing lanes, etc. really frustrating. Most games I play end with me struggling to defend where the CPU gets waves of attacks that always end with a shot. Its frustrating.

@Ovvy I seem to do well defending most of the pitch but when my opponent gets close to my goal my defenders either seem to sag off too much. I can control one and keep him on the ball but he seems to score by finding the right player, shielding the ball and turning and scoring a goal. Either that or my defenders are too easy to beat/out of position that he can just take a shot from the top of the box and score. What is the best strategy for this or do you have any advice? Is there something I'm not doing enough or doing too much? (I have beenn working on moving away from using the "Contain" button more towards the "Jockey" button but it seems my defenders are so passive that eventually an offensive player breaks open and that's when the opponent scores.

To have more time on the ball use the possession tactic i mainly use 4 1 4 1 coupled with possession and pressure after heavy touch to mess with my opponents and it helps control the game and play at my own pace

I can't defend for the life of me, my players are always off position and whenever I do get an interception or tackle it always helps out the other team. Through the whole game I somehow only have 3-5 tackles done while the opposing team has about 20. I win most of my games, but it would still be nice not letting in 3-5 goals every game.

Great tutorial as usual Ovie! Love to watch your content because you seem to view the game in the same way as me. Also a veteran FIFA-player. I just have one question. How do you like to defend against people that pass tiki taka style all the time. Like 2-3 quick passes in succession then a quick through ball and a direct shot to the side of the keeper. For me personally I have a hard time stopping their attacking. Kinda how it’s playing on hardest difficultys vs the AI.

Hello Ovy, can you make a video explaining how to be effective in interceptions ? I always feel I am weak in interceptions. I play with Liverpool, I position my players in the passing lane correctly ! and 8 out of 10 times , they don't intercept the ball , it just goes through them even when I know where my opponent is going to pass. I use L2 to intercept the ball between the passing lanes and still it doesn't work. Is there a better way to do interceptions ? I would really appreciate if you accept my request and do a tutorial on interceptions since it is one my biggest weakness in the game.

I defend by holding jockey and sprint button, but my players never get close to the opposite players.
