Adweya Dalvi neither FIFA nor PES are even close to replicate what football is in real life. The gameplay in PES is superior in my opinion, however it quickly becomes predictable, repetitive, boring, and it has its share of lack of realism. Graphics are not impressive on these games either, it’s a sports game, not a massive open world game with a ton of special effects. I am unimpressed in all aspects, gameplay, graphics, commentaries, game modes. Two mediocre games. I’d rather watch Watford Swansea than playing more PES or FIFA.

Totally agree. EA is absolute greedy (or incompetent?) and is not paying attention to consumers wishlist. Gameplay should be massively improved by now. After all it's a football game, to improve the realism should be the initial priority for EA if they have any sort of passion for the game and fans. Goalkeepers for example still make the same unrealistic saves on hard shots (top corner) and shooting isn't smooth at all, either way to loose or far to hard, nothing in between. Rebounds from goalkeepers don't really exist, and no variation to it either. Defence has been better but instead of improving an OK 👍 AI they instead totally re-write it to the next game?? 🤔 And the goalkeeper problem has always been an major issue. As a former goalkeeper myself it's almost hilarious how unrealistic they are, they're not making fluid moves/saves and the gameplay gets way to boring when you already know the outcome, either they make a super catch in some impossible way, or let the ball in easily.. FIFA 09 is by far the most fluid and realistic EA game I've ever played! And I do miss it. But it's all about the money, easy earnings, brain washing people with FUT, and the game isn't cheap. Career mode as I prefer has gone worse over years, instead of improving it, they've just change some graphics and add small things, and they've also managed to remove some good features like 'request funds' and be able to convince older players to continue playing. Now they just quit and you can't do anything about it!

Are we playing the same game? PES is terrible for me when it comes to the ball movement and especially shooting. The ball moves exceptionally slow no matter what. Don't take my word for it though, play for a couple of hours straight, then turn off your console and switch directly to a sports channel broadcasting a game. Today would be good for that given the Champions League games. I did that yesterday - PES is way off the mark when it comes to ball movement. I haven't played FIFA 19 but PES 19 is def not enjoyable for me

@@marcusgonzales9528 KONAMI didn't improve there, but they updated the mechanics, graphics taken a big leap(though the kits got worse), the new enlighten engine is amazing. The ball and player models are more natural, AI more tougher to break down(can't misuse the one-two passes anymore, the catch-up bug is gone), still there's the low cross issue(almost fixed). It's more of a simulation this year. They are now on the right path and that's reassuring. They need to work more on the off the pitch elements and commentaries and licences. Then it would be much better than FIFA. FIFA 19 BTW is a more polished version of last year

Both games good at something, PES is more realistic, FIFA is a bit arcady (nothing wrong about it, it's a game after all). But what I think would be great is the inclusion of the history of soccer in a story mode, not story mode like FIFA has, but more of a real history. It will not only educate people about the soccer, but will also introduce a little changes in the gameplay (cuz different balls were used before, and if you watch any old soccer game it looks more savage than today's soccer). For example one thing of History of soccer mode could be about reliving (and playing of course) significant moments in the history.

That's a cool idea, but I think they'd have to get rights to a lot of historical players which may be a little difficult/costly. It would be fun to have a Scenario mode like playing as Liverpool 3-0 down at half time in Istanbul, with difficulty mode locked on high, and see if you are able to replicate history.

Allow me to explain, Ad Populum Fallacy, it means that because an opinion is more popular doesn’t mean it is true. With this in mind we can safely say that the fact that FIFA sells more is not because is a better game. In regards of graphics, the FOX engine Kohima developed before leaving Konami is way more advanced than the Frostbite engine, the ball physics in PES outweighs the pinball in FIFA. The only reason why FIFA has the Champions license is because of their deep pockets (not that’s anything wrong with that) but if the only thing you look for is licenses, well you go with FIFA, be my guest. Fortunately I have been able to play both FIFA and PES, and yes, PES lacks stadiums and licenses (which can be easy fixed with the option file). But it greatly overcompensates with gameplay, which at the end of the day is what I look for in a game. It is understandable that ppl enjoys more playing FIFA due to the fact that is an easy to pick game, all my friends that I play football with (and all play FIFA may I add) have a hard time playing PES due to the complexity, me on the other hand, enjoy my matches with them on FIFA, but at the end of the day is the in pitch game experience that I enjoy. And sorry but PES has that, that doesn’t mean that FIFA is not enjoyable. I doubt you understand that if your only argument is FIFA is better because it sells more. Enjoy FIFA, I will enjoy both

FIFA is for people who like scoring unrealistic skill move and bicycle kick goals and collecting player cards. PES is for people who love football because of how the sport feels like and looks like. PES is for people who put the gamespeed to -1 and switch all the passing and shooting assists off and get a load of satisfaction for scoring themselves instead of playing ping pong FIFA where the assists do most of the work for them. Don't get me wrong though! FIFA has its place on the market for those people who like tossing money to collect and trade player cards! I remember I liked those cards too when I was like 8 or 9 years old! We used to trade those at school during the breaks! License problem is fixed with a 5 min option file, and you can go further and add the leagues and kits you wish, something you can't do in FIFA. I take the gameplay and the freedom to edit the game as you fish with the Option files that PES offers over FIFA's licenses and flashy stadiums. If PES had an stadium creator it would be the perfect game in my book.

FIFA is great at licenses (can be solved at PS4/PC PES though) and atmosphere, it’s shinier. Has better commentary. Overall, better in modes, menu, cutscenes etc. PES is better at gameplay, it gives players more statisfaction from football itself. But it never made Champions League as atmospheric even when it had licences. So it’s great on the pitch but slightly lacking in presentation, modes, online, licences etc. Overall, I like both, but if I had to bet, FIFA makes some decent efforts to be more like PES on the pitch and even though it’s half-baked now, I believe it will be achieved in 2-3 years. PES stagnates more in the stuff it needs to do so I don’t believe they’ll suddenly aquire licences and change commentary etc. So overall I bet it will be FIFA who prevails and I just hope they learn from PES gameplay as much as possible over the years and that PES will still be around to show them how it’s done;-) Or maybe I am wrong and PES will massively improve in presentation, modes etc. and find a way to include licences on all consoles. That would be great too! Let’s hope they steal from each other.

I Bought fifa 19 yesterday.. its way better than fifa 18 for me...but still PES feels more realistic, I am ac Milan's fan when i play fifa..... ...I don't really have the feeling I am playing with ac Milan... every player plays the same (No soul, No identity) .. Ratings don't have big effects (except speed).. player like Higuain, Suso biglia they doesn't look realistic at all not even close..while in pes 2019 every play has his unique way of playing unique way of running. I feel like both games are great in their own perspective. PES is great if you've actually played or understand the real physical and mental aspects of football. It's so satisfying to have your winger cross in a perfect ball towards your target men only for the goalkeeper to pull off an acrobatic save. Hardcore football fans will probably find this game to be more realistic and enjoyable but casual fans could also enjoy it too. FIFA is great in the aspect that it captures the visuals and atmosphere of professional football matches. FIFA is more appealing towards non-hardcore football fans, *cough* Yankees *cough*, which is why the gameplay is more arcady, fast, and easier to pick up. But the gameplay of FIFA is nowhere near the realism of that of PES. If you want a football game that captures the realism of actual football, then get PES. If you want a football game that captures the visuals and atmosphere of football, then get FIFA.

The ball in fifa looks like a hockey disc, doesn’t separate from the pitch. To be fair, pes may be slightly better on the pitch, but in all of the rest, fifa is better. I play pes but I absolutely agree fifa is a better product.

FIFA Pros = Simulation Shooting (More variety of each type of shoot), Net Physics, Better Presentation, Gameplay not so Scripted like PES. Cons = Arcade player movements, Collisions, Unrealistic game speed, Bad feeling of Gameplay PES Pros = Realistic game speed, Better collisions, Life like Player Models, Realistic control of the ball, Great feeling of Gameplay, Better Ball Physics (Sometimes, so this is 50-50 for PES - FIFA. Cons = Arcade Shooting (No variety + Easy to shoot and score especially at 1 v 1), Arcade Through Balls, Automatic Movements, Bad Net Physics, Most of time Scripted and user can't do anything to defend a through ball.

Fifa 17 was the one that beat PES and got me into playing FIFA. But since then FIFA has become a pile of arcady gameplay shit. In the other hand PES just getting more and more realistic. For the lisence you just need to download mods and it takes 5 minutes to install. The ones who says FIFA is better than PES are probably people who can't handle realistic gameplay LOL. Bought both this year. Now FIFA has LAFC(MLS) and UEFA champions league. So I figured I would get it. Thought it would be worth the $60. Well after playing FIFA for a while still feels arcady. Although gameplay feels a little better then FIFA 18 not as good as PES. PES graphics this year seem to actually beat FIFA. I like both, but once FIFA'S gameplay catches up to PES or PES catches up a little with liscenses no need for both. They are both good in their own way. If you are a casual footballer and like online play go with FIFA. If you are a more hard core footballer and don't care about liscenses or online that much. Definitely go with PES. Or wait until one or both goes on sale and buy both. It will keep you occupied for the season until next seasons games come out lol.

Yep this is what I'm doing, I both fifa now, and when PES 19 price goes down in the summer or when I find a good used deal, I will get that one too. I did skip on fifa 18, had 17 only, so I'm hoping the realism won't get to me. Online is just fun tho, it's almost like tabel football sometimes, but that's just what makes me laugh. However, I do value realism from time to time, so what's why I will also buy PES 19.

Yeah, because most people play PES and also buy FIFA for the reasons it is better while FIFA players are so in that EA mentality, and never wanna try to learn PES, I have a couple of friends that I forced to learn PES and after they learned it we started playing more PES than FIFA when we’re together, just for the on the pitch part, while they both still prefer FIFA when they’re online, you know FUT, presentation and so on.

I love both games, I have started actually playing pes 2003 back in the day. Now I play fifa and Pes too, both are awesome and have their own pros and cons...Like in PES the realistic graphics but they do not have the right teams, emblems etc which you need to rely on SmOkE patches etc and pes has less arenas/stadiums wherein more repetitive of generic looking ones but a different name for each team; Fifa in the other hand have these details I love, flags waved in the crowd which makes the environment more hyped, the camera shaking after a goal, teams are available on set and over 70 stadiums which makes the product awesome. With all this said the only thing needed in these games is the PES 2012- PES 2013 feature when you can upload your own picture on a created player's face which gives you a legit feel that you yourself are in the game and can edit other player's faces with real pictures.

that really is a matter of preference...i generally prefer more depth in games as it gives more challenges even if its sometimes difficult to learn the mechanics but its all the better when you start to understand how to play the game...in that regard I would say PES really has more depth to it. Player positioning, direction of movement, direction to opponent, pace etc just give you so many possibilities but also limitations...but I also understand that just causually pressing a few buttons and see great thing happen on screen can be entertaining.

Pes is imbalanced. sometimes playing well doesn’t help you cause the computer will give the chances to the opponent. And it look like pes don’t really mean the players rating, cause in the rating Lukaku is lower than Ronaldo Naymar and Messi but if you look at their games he is much better player than all of them he almost never miss a chance to score

I switched from FIFA this year (although I tried FIFA 19 and uninstalled it after 1 hour of playing). The ball physics (even the net physics) are so better in PES. The game is interesting even when my butt is being kicked. MyClub should add some more offline modes just to make it a bit more interesting. I feel like every match is different with PES, while with FIFA every game seemed so same to me. There are some improvements Konami should do with PES, and if they did it this year I think there would be no place for comparison.
