allot of multipurpose stadiums with running tracks, these usually lose atmosphere in club football but i think they work well in world cups, due to the mix of fans around the stadium. Great Vid, maybe do one on commonwealth venues ? :)

George French remember football was not major spot in that parts of the world ,so they had no choice they had to build a multipurpose stadiums otherwise they risk to have a white elephants ,so it was right in that time coz those are countries that are famous for martial arts , but football have ever since grown in this countries

Something I like about 2002 is that there is a lot of multipurpose stadiums , with track and field which means that they are not for football alone but even athletics can also use them ,that why I believe those are the best world cup stadiums ever , followed up by France and south Africa coz they are being shared with rugby teams ,so that is what you call a great investment Looking beyond football when you spend those billions of tax payers money you must spend it wisely !!

Only if you can constantly host something and bring people amap to the stadium. Costs of maintenance may become amazingly high when you put a track and grass on the same stadium.
