if it were just 4:3, the tires would not look egg shaped. this is the infamous letterbox format, which requires stretching on horizontal axis. it's a specific tv-broadcasting thing, mainly used for archiving (a long story behind it). ergo, the person-uploader is either old and still lives in beta tape era, inexperienced youngster with no knowledge in editing or just blind and stupid. it's sad really, a waste of good material...

Yeah that looked well shy of 400 BHP. Like around 100 BHP shy of 400 BHP. Those Sunny GTI-Rs well incredibly light and obviously AWD so a 400 BHP GTI-R would have wasted the Viper off line and just disappeared into the distance.

@@Leeholtom2911 well the Viper had very similar power (if the Sunnys 400 BHP is believed) but is a much heavier car (like at least 250 KG heavier) that's also missing the 4 wheel drive. Hence the Sunny should have totally annihilated the Viper, unless as some are saying the editing makes things look closer than the reality.

The more you watch it the more you can see Fifth Gear edited the crap outta it, maybe to make things closer. In car you can see the Sunny blows the Viper away, but then it cuts to footage of both cars cruising along. The Sunny wasted the Viper, shame we couldn't see the unedited footage.

The Nissan is just a fast sunny…?? And a mint mk2 rs is worth £35k now. So Maybe not, but for £10-15k I’d buy a mint focus mk2 st3 with everything on it.

@@kristianspencer1978 Don’t get me wrong, the Focus is a great car. There is just something special about the GTiR. Small turbo, individual throttle bodies, SR20 that revs to 8K or something like that, and AWD of course. Id be happy with either in my garage, but the Pulsar just has that X factor for me.

@@Birmingham_racing i do. and you do know the difference between egg shaped and coin shaped objects, right? tires are round, as far as i know... and there is a difference between 4:3 aspect ratio and letterbox format. letterbox distorts the image and has to be corrected (stretching on x axis, or horizontally, if you wish) to achieve the correct proportions. this looks like a lost episode of Coneheads and i'm not OK with that...
