Does a financed car make it a worse car? Just asking in general. Theres a chance this could (probably was financed) when first bought new. I know a guy that financed an r35 gtr nismo a few years ago, paid it off, but dont think it made it any better/worse when he financed it im not sure what makes a difference? Like 2 identical cars side by side, ones paid cash ones financed is the financed one a worse car? Genuine question im not sure?
@pb33828 ай бұрын
The reason i am asking is he got a big pay out from a bad work injury, just over 6 figures he got, he said i could have bought the car cash no bother, but i chose to buy 2 cheap flats, spend a few quid on them. Rent them out for £800 and £975 a month, and stick a 20k deposit on the gtr, and financed the rest, cars now paid off and he has £1775 a month income from the flats for the rest of his life, if he bought the car, yes it wouldnt have been on finance, but he would have spunked most of that money on a depreciating asset, so i dont think because people choose to finance cars. Doesnt mean they dont have the cash to buy it, sometimes it can mean they have stuck the money into assets that actually make money, not a depreciating asset like a car. Very smart move in my books. Tell you what if someone gave me 100k cash, i certainly wouldnt spend it all on a car to run about and say (ahhh but its not on finance) I would want the money to make more money. Even if its not on finance, its costing you money each month anyway with depreciation. Still be worth the same at the end of the 5 year finance agreement whether it was on finance or not, just you have lost it all, and dont have any other income because you fired it into the car to lose it through the term. And have a car worth no where near what you first paid for it 5 years ago. Madness.

I get it’s nice to own your car, I’m fortunate enough to own both mine (one being an imported mk6 golf r lol) but I also understand that not everyone can go and throw down 10/20/30 grand+ just to “own” a car. Take into account depreciation on most modern cars and it makes sense to finance it for however long and then move on. Also you can finance a lot of old imports nowadays. I’m sure the guy does own the one in the video but could just as easily have it on a finance deal. Either way, who cares?! The fact aswell that for a lot of jdm stuff nowadays you’re talking well over the 20k mark for nice examples. Evo’s, gtst’s etc. most people don’t have that amount just lying about to throw down in one go but can manage an instalment package. Don’t be so judgemental dude! Cars are cars! Doesn’t matter if you want to finance it or buy it. Each to their own

One of my favourite cars. I used to watch 500bhp Pulsars race at santapod @ ten of the best. I saw one launch so hard that all 4 wheels were spinning, & hit 0-60mph in the 3's.

Miss my GTI-R. Had mine back in 2001 - H849 JVM shortly after import to UK, back when Japanese motors were starting to be recognised for their performance. They still felt new, so driving the GTI-R back then felt a bit special - especially being just 19 years of age. Not crazy quick by todays standards but back in 2001 there wasn't much that would keep up with it. I only seemed to get bikes trying to race me then. Haha.

As a previous Nissan SR20 owner (SR20DE & SR20VE in a FWD chassis similar to this - In South Africa we have the 200STI and 200GXI platform), this would be pretty high up on my list of dream cars. SUCH A RAD CAR, and this is an AMAZING example of one!

Some were made specifically for UK market, these were called a Sunny GTiR. The Japanese market cars were called a Pulsar.

I had a 300+ hp gtir ra - only 500 made with close ratio gear box, lightweight (wind up windows, no abs etc). It was mad. It was over 20 years ago though. A certain death trap. Felt faster than my 9 second RS3 but only ran 12’s.
