A man can retain his identity as a son even after marriage but a woman cant do the same? In olden times women were said to take the last name of her husband because WOMEN WERE TREATED AS PROPERTY. First the property of her father and then her husband. It wasnt a sign of respect. It was a sign of ownership. So that the new identity must be respected; the old identity should be discarded? Why?
