Mary was a dear friend of mine, long before I began to play my own music. She taught me Cane on the Brazos. Bless her sweet soul.

Add my thanks for posting this. Good memories of the manchester area clubs in the 70s and seeing Mary from time to time in the Rose and Crown in Stalybridge. I have this album, and have played this song myself, frequently wondering where Mary was these days. Very sad to find that she's gone. She was one of those that so very nearly hit the spot, but didn't quite get what she definitely earned by way of wider respect as a fine musician. I missed her when i just didn't know where she was, but will miss her more now.

Sad to report, Mary Asquith died this week in Stockport. Another fine singer we've lost.
