I study Aikijutsu and Wing Chun. In Aikijutsu there are literally no back steps. We move forward regardless of who is attacking or what they are attacking with. If you move forward into a person, especially when they try to kick, you will do 1 of 2 things, maybe both. You will intercept the attack before its intended impact point reducing or eliminating the damage done, or completely knock them off balance potentially laying them flat on their back. I have used it to great effect in street fights and cross training. Its hard to get people to do it though because its very counter intuitive to walk into the area people are attacking from. Once you get over that fear though, you become a much more dangerous and effective fighter. Its the same principle that made Mike Tyson so deadly.

That’s totally my fault. We filmed this right after the practice. There were few people trying to finish up their rounds. I should had change the direction of camera so the microphone wouldn’t pick up most of background noise. I will be more mindful next time! 🙏🏼
