Tips: A platinum pickaxe can mine that red glowing ore, or blow it up with bombs! The red ore is the strongest ore you can have right now. You also can get the red ore from the boss you just killed "Eye of Cthulhu" Use rope to make lines that allow you to safely move up and down in deep caves! Making sets of armor like all wearing the helmet, breastplate, and leggings of one specific material can give you a bonus!

You just need to create two air blocks above you to breathe. They don’t have to connect to the cave, just two water-free blocks will do the trick!

I adore this playthrough so far! Here's a small tip. There is a button (i think ctrl by default) that how your cursor targets blocks. How you had it set up through the video was the "smart" mode, which is good for mining, but not as much for building and interacting/mining things through walls. I can't wait for this series to continue. Also, if you want to learn the purpose of an item, a good way to learn ways to craft something with it is to go to the guide and his "crafting" menu, then to place the item on the left to see what you can craft with it.

Yeah you can use ctrl to toggle smart cursor vs normal cursor. The fat cursor is the smart one which will auto target some blocks from you. It's useful for mining, exploring, placing walls, etc. The thin cursor is the manual cursor where things will only happen right where you are pointing. It's good for fine detail building like placing platforms the way you want instead of automatically converting to stairs or targeting the wrong block.

First of all - i just love seeing somebody playing and exploring terraria for the first time! :) Second of all - you should collect potions and materials to craft them: herbs that grow on the ground in all the biomes, sometimes drops from some mobs and most importantly fish (you can craft a fishing rod from lead bars and then you buy a bugnet from the merchant and catch the worms, butterflys etc.). The potions in general are a game changer here Pro tip №1: And not only do you get fish from fishing as a food soure and potions materials, but you can also get some special items (you'll see) Protip №2: At the certain stage of the game in the blue place that you visited (the official name of it - Glowing mushroom biome) there will spawn a special worm that you can fish with ;) Orther then that - enjoy the game and hopefully i'll see the full playthrough ❤

Another couple hotkeys/tips I recommend if you don't know are: m - opens map. You can use + and - to zoom in and out which I HIGHLY suggest using often so you can focus a bit more on your close proximity when mining to see pressure plate traps on the floor etc or zooming out fully for a boss fight. Also in your inventory, below your coins you'll see two chest icons. One of them deposits all your items into chests that have that item already inside of it, which is sooo useful for when you come back from mining and just click one button to dump everything into your chests and have your inventory sorted out. Okay I think I'm done. Love this series! keep it up

As Terrarian veteran seeing someone new discover Terraria on their own and finding out all the mechanics by trial and error (mostly), being amazed by everything and having fun with the game during all the highs and lows (meeting the ground at 20m/s) fills me with a certain magical kind of joy. Keep it up and have fun! Also try talking with the guide with his "help" option for tips on what to do and read up descriptions of various items. You can get a lot of useful information from descriptions of items on how to use them properly, some can be placed, some can be used for crafting other stuff, many can do both, some can be equipped for buffs/utility things and so on. Sorry for another comment but houses are REALLY important You see, some npcs have certain likes, dislikes , loves, and hates, (eg, guide and merchant likes the forest) Now if you have at least 2 or 3 people in a biome that they like with people that they like you may be able to buy Pylons, Pylons are biome teleportation thingys, you need at least two people in the biome of that pylon for it to work in the map(press m for map) ok that's enough now(also also bosses have certain requirements like the eye needs it to be night in order to spawn)

A little tip for houses: houses only need a table, chair, walls, doors and light source (doesn't matter the type) and the way I build houses for my npc is make a 10 horizontally and 6 vertically wooden box or simply, 10x6 box.and that's about all I can give about houses and NPCs

I'm always happy to see new players playing Terraria, so here's some spoiler free tips for you by an OG: - You don't need to have your Healing Potions in your hotbar, by pressing "H" you'll automatically heal no matter where your potions are (also by pressing "B" you will use all of the potions you have in your inventory); - You can craft potions by putting a water bottle on top of a crafting table; - The more house you make the more NPCS will come (but every NPCS have certain requirements in order to spawn, such as the merchant you need to have more than 50 silver coins in your inventory, etc...); - If you're asking what that "Happiness" button means while talking with an NPC, it will simply tells you what you need to do to make them happy, an happy NPC will make discounts on the items it sells;

When it comes to making housing, you can check if your "house/room" is valid for someone to live in by accessing the housing menu above your equipment and using the query (? symbol) tool. You can use doors/platforms and blocks to seperate rooms in a house. While the housing menu is open you will see banners on the wall of your house showing you who lives where, and maybe if room is valid and unoccupied, someone new might arrive.

A few small tips that I’m sure you’ve already gotten before, I’ll try not to give any big progression spoilers: 1) The Guide, as much as you hate him, is actually invaluable when playing blind. Not only does he give tips, such as ways to gear up and how to move NPCs in, but his Crafting menu can be used to research recipes. Just bring him any material you have and see what it can be made into. Unfortunately it won’t hide stuff you simply cannot get the materials for yet, so if you see something and it looks too strong, it is for now. 2) If you buy the Piggy Bank from the Merchant and put your money into it, it can hold it and allow you to spend without carrying coins everywhere. Very useful since if you’re carrying your money with you and you die, you lose 50% of it. Honestly top 5 item in the entire game for me. 3) There are 4 main “classes” of weapons, with each weapon being specialized in one type and fitting a certain theme of attack based on that. You’ve discovered two so far, with Melee being things like swords and Ranged being things like bows. I won’t say what the other two are, but I’ll hint that a certain mechanic you learned about in this video is related to both of them. (assuming you haven’t already figured them out) There’s much more I could say, I am perfectly 100% normal about this game (lies, 1200+ hours across console, PC and mobile), but in the spirit of letting you screw around and find out organically, I’ll leave it at that.

There are a lot of shortcuts, like [H] to drink a healing potion (so it doesn't have to be in your hotbar). - there is a menu (little house icon above your armour) that you use to look if a house is 'suitable' (or why it isn't suitable), and move NPCs (as in deciding they should live in a different house you build) - 22:00 like in Minecraft, blocks cannot float and at least need a wall to support them 😏 maybe a TEENY TINY SPOILER: - different NPCs will be able to spawn as you progress, but will NEVER spawn if you don't have enough 'suitable' houses. - the shoe spikes allow you to wall jump (against 1 wall, not between 2 walls)

Great video, love it thus far. Here's a little tip for your accessories. You have the Radar & Depth-o-meter on you that displays information, the Radar tells you how many enemies are around you, and the Depth-o-meter tells you how high/low you are in the world. These types of accessories that display such information will also work just as fine in the inventory, so if you get new accessories, then you can swap those two and keep them in your inventory to still utilise their ability. Also, pay attention to under your tool bar because if you're buffed or debuffed, then a little image pops up that will inform you about what is on you and how long it lasts. If you're poisoned like how you died, then a little image will appear under your tool bar and tell you exactly that and so on

Next Objective : Since you beat the eye of cuthlu , you should proceed to the Goblin Army Invasion. In order to summon it naturally , you must have more than 200 health and destroyed one heart from crimson biome (the red forest). After you beat the invasion ,you have to find the goblin tinkerer in the underground (its a pain in ass to find) ,and then buy the Rocket boots and Tinkerer's workshop ,make sure you have many coins in your piggy bank the are costly and Lastly combine the Hermes boots and Rocket boots on the Tinkerer's workshop for better movement and allows flight. Tips: -If you want more npcs I suggest building more rooms. -Always put your coins inside the piggy bank to avoid losing it and allows you to buy anywhere. -Craft a magic mirror for unlimited teleport so you don't need a potion to get back. Just get Diamonds ,Platinum ,and Glass -Always create arena for all bosses and put campfires -There are 4 different Classes in this game Melee ,Ranger ,Mage ,Summoner (I bet you like playing as a Ranger) -If you want a better weapon ,I suggest getting the Boomstick from the chests in the underground jungle. Some small tips! (Spoiler free :3) Press H to quick heal (use your top most health potion) (doesn't need to be in hotbar) Press B to quick buff (use all buff potions in your inventory) Right click or press R on minecart tracks, you will automatically hop onto one! (you can craft for better quality ones, but you don't need to craft/carry one with you to use it!). Press R again to dismount, or E (hook) also works. And the most important one, if you encounter an item with "Material" tag, go to the guide npc, press Crafting menu on his dialogue box, then you will see a new item slot near your craftable item list. If you put an item with "Material" tag into that slot, you can check every recipes that use that item to craft. Hope this helps, and enjoy your game!

Just gonna leave a few small tips here: H - quickly drink the best healing potion in your inventory (no need to have it on your hotbar) ctrl + click - when in your inventory holding ctrl and clicking on an item will instantly move it to trash so you can empty your inventory quickly when you open a chest there are buttons on the right side of its inventory to quickly store/take out items you can find similiar buttons below your ammo in your inventory, they allow you to quickly stack items into your chests (so if you have 300 dirt in your inventory and 20 dirt in the chest it will go to the chest without the need to find it and place it there) alt + click - add an item to favourites so that when you use the button to store all items it stays in your inventory ( probably just use it for important weapons and potions) holding shift while hovering over a block( for example a tree ) will in most cases select the correct tool to break it so there is no need to keep an axe on your hotbar and most importantly: the new npc that moved into your house is the merchant... BUY THE PIGGY BANK FROM HIM

So, since you'll continue with terraria, i'll give you a few more tips! - You can get in and out of the minecarts with R. Also, your hook can attach to rails, and to the plaftorms you used to make that little arena to fight the eye - Your hook can save you from fall damage if you launch it down and it hooks the floor before you hit it. - There are other useful shortcuts in your Keyboard. H for using healing pots, B for buff potions (that's what they are called), J for mana potions, Tab changes tha way you see the map, M opens it. - I'd recommend you to build a few more houses. some small spoiler free tips: -i suggest going to the left of your world there is a green biome that has some of the best loot in early game ( its very difficult) -try making a platinum pickaxe to mine faster/mine that red magma ore or you can kill eye of cthulu again since he drops some of it -if u like bows i suggest getting some ice blocks to mix with your arrows since they give a much better arrow effect than flaming arrows or get fallen stars since they make good arrows too _build way more pretty small houses for more npcs to move in i suggest making 5~10 houses with walls a chair and table - try going to the bad red biome its called crimson look for glowing orbs underground you can bomb them for a cool surprise ( america loot ) you can also hammer them those are all the spoiler free tips i had to give have a great time playing your first terraria playthrough

HELL YEA MORE TERRARIA (Tips: 1. you can see something you stepped on the ground like if you closely look at 10:32 and it trigger traps like the boulder and dart traps (straight flying arrows) 2. you can ask the guide what things you can craft with a material by pressing the crafting menu when interacting with him and putting a material in the box below your normal crafting menu (iirc) that way you can see the things you might wanna craft using stuff lol 3. You can press M near minecarts and press M again to leave 4. You might wanna build more houses because yknow, wink wink 5. Take all of the chest that you will encounter so that you can put them at home and boom,free storage space) anyway, great video fam I enjoyed watching every second of it, loved it :D

guide is the most useful npc in the game he tells you all the recipes of the game plus his game tips are tied to you game progression, he guides you with immersive tips for everything of the game till the end game, he says things like "hmm you should look for more health" or "mayb you can find something in taht biome" etc he acctualy guides you troguh the entire game but with immersive tips without much spoilers. for example he tells you how to smelt a ore after you get you first ore, but will never tell about it until you get a ore, his tips are based in you progression.

Tip: build houses! The more houses - the more NPCs would come! House in Terraria is just a box with walls, table, chair and light source. The more you progress in game, the more different NPCs will come.

Yo quick tip if you make a new world you can select your already made character and join a new world to find different ores (cause every world you make will have different stuff) and find more loot

The agony of traps is an universal experience. Quick tip: Dangersense potions can help you see pressure plates, which are places you step onto to trigger a trap! Or, if you don't have those, holding a pressure plate or a dart trap in your hand will let you see where the wires of the trap are.

A guide on what the guide does: After clicking on the guide, click crafting, put anything in the slot he gives that has material in the description, this will show everything you can craft with that item, this will help immensely with crafting trees, e.g the hermes boots you picked have a *LARGE* tree. Backseating ahead (kind of): I'd recommend getting 10 hearts as quickly as possible since it allows for random useful events to happen. Also create tons of houses because NPCs are useful and they won't move in unless you do so.

i watched the first part and i never thought about giving you advice so here are some quality of life advice : - if you have a chest open you can use the items in the the chest to craft (having material and ore chests next to your crafting spot is really nice) - there is a lot of NPC, make more houses - there is a lot of loot in the game you will need a good amount of chests - there is a good amount of hotkeys go in the control settings to learn them for example a health potion hotkey - you can consume stuff form your inventory just grab them and left click usefull for buff potions, life crystals

Tip: Go to the "bad bad red biome". Find a red heart. Dig your way to it with bombs. Break it using a bomb or hammer. From first heart you'll 100% get a gun. From second heart you'll get a random item from biome's pool. When you'll break the third heart, a bad thing will happen, so do it on your own risk!

There's a few things you should know. The guide is far from useless If you select the crafting option whenever you click on him. You can drag a item to where you would be crafting an item, and he'll show you all the recipes that it can be used for. Also, if you look at a item in your inventory, if it says material, it means that it can be used to make something. Like certain weapons, equipment, plants and any other items can be put together to make better and stronger items. So it's a thing you should look out for. He also tells you the specific crafting table that needs to be used to make it. Hope this helps.

A couple of tips, mostly UI-related because this game sure has a lot of UI and doesn't really teach you a lot of it: - Build LOTS of houses, this game's got loads of NPCs - Additionally, build them in different biomes, you can get "Pylons" to teleport between them (the NPCs will only sell them to you if they're happy enough though and yes, there is such as a stat as "NPC happiness" but I'm NOT gonna get into that whole thing right now because that shit is complicated [you also get bonuses like better prices], but it basically boils down to talking to the NPCs and listening to what they're saying where they wanna live/who they wanna live next to, alternatively, either don't bother with that shit or use a guide from the internet like any sane person would) - On the very right, just above your armor slots, there are three little icons: the left one looks like a camera and opens camera mode, the middle one looks like a little house and opens the housing menu where you can see/change which NPC lives where, the right one looks like the chain you used to craft the grappling hook and takes you to the menu where you can equip stuff like for example the grappling hook (not gonna spoil what else). - Didn't see you using the map yet, might just have missed it tho, but just in case: You can use Tab to swap between Mini-Map, Fullscreen-Map and no map. - The merchant sells an item called the piggy bank, I'd recommend getting it as soon as possible, it's the Terraria-equivalent of an Enderchest (although Terraria had it a full year earlier so it should be the other way round) and it's absolutely fucking busted that the game just gives it to us this early. - Not sure if you're just getting every single item from the chests individually because you wanna look at them all, but in case that's not the reason: There is a "Loot all"-button next to the chest-inventory, which can definitely help if you, for example, oh I dunno, wanna loot a chest that's underwater and you're gonna drown soon (just making up a completely fictional scenario here). - Instead of using those recall potions to get back to spawn, you can also click on "Settings", then on "Save & Exit" and then just re-enter your world. The only real case when you shouldn't be doing this is when you're playing multiplayer and you're the one hosting. Oh also if you for some reason actually read all this: Please for the love of god organize your stuff, both in your inventory (there's literally a sorting-button) and in your chests, two more episodes and you won't be able to find absolutely anything.

The only problem with most new terraria players and most of any players of any game, is that they dont read at all, tutorials, instructions, manuals, tips, etc. The guide gives you advices and tells you how to progress, which mterials are craftable, in which working table, etc. I know is your first time, but as i said, in any game is the same thing :v

Props to you for the natural progression to a boss arena, (even if small it was still effective) many newer players struggle very badly with bosses for a long time until they either look it up or come to the same conclusion as you. Also make a campfire for your arena(s)/spawn

Tip: dig up your gravestones and put 1 on grass and check back in a few in game days for a red flower. Beware of the ghost of your past haunting you. Also don't put more than 5 gravestones in the same place as it will be very bad, unless you are curious.

Ill give ya some tips as i have played the game for 1000 hours, so: (No Spoilers) 1. The Red Biome (Bad Bad Zone) is called the Crimson its an evil biome that has powerful enemies, 2. That crafting station with the red eyes is called a Crimson Altar, thats where you craft boss summons 3. The Platinum Pickaxe can mine the Red Ore called Crimtane Ore, you cant really use it for anything at your stage of the game but will be useful later 4. Try to get a full set of platinum Armor, full sets of Armor gives you set bonuses 5. On the Bottom of the UI on your left where your armor and accessories are, you can see a little shield icon, that displays your defence try to get that up 6. You can make more houses to get more NPCs each NPC sells different stuff 7. On the Right where your armor/accessories are on the top you'll see 3 icons, a camera, a house, and a hook, you want to click the house and that will show you housing, you can click that question mark and then click in a house to see if its a suitable house 8. Try to Fight the King Slime, its the accuall first boss, 20 Slime and 1 Platinum Crown
