Yep without question 👍 That BJJ is nothing but technics taken from japanese jujutsu for e.x! I myself have done some BJJ and it's way overhyped. The Gracies surely knew how to market it good! Had a few Judokas at the BJJ gym, and they had no problem rolling on the mat, even with the best bjj guys. But the bjj guys dident stand a chance taking they down. But the Judokas easily throw the black belts bjj guys like Nothing. That says it all huh 😉 IMHO Judo is totaly superior, but of course it takes some time to be good at it! For self defense Karate + Judo, is pretty much the best way to go. A good Judoka is hard as hell to take down - I have seen it in action as said. Karate first defense, then Judo if one ever ends up on the ground or if the agressor manage to get hold of you - send the fuckers flying! Karate + Judo is the perfect match, and I will switch from this overhyped bjj be sure of that. Will move to another city, and there we have Judo besides all different Karate styles. My is Shotokan btw!

I don’t think your opponent will throw one punch then stand there like a brick for you to hit back so many time

If he fight with stance like boxing he Will pull back his punch. But the point is combination of striking as fast as posible
@TokyoTransit2 жыл бұрын
@@Morusalba-r4u then teh opponent also wil strik as fast as possible, wouldn't he? or will he send a strike and stand still while you turn your back on him?

All kata and forms should be taught with the practical application .. unfortunately with the advent of bastardised eclectic styles that have emanated over the years , the majority of shit styles and instructors with more grades on their belts than a university curriculum would not have a clue as to their practical application .. I still reserve my opinion though that the practise needs to be focused on more realistic street type attacks ... nobody is going to hand you their arm and ask to be assaulted ... and yes I do understand that this is the static application to improve response and focus ... adapt using both .... my early days of Goju Kai karate some 45 years ago allowed me to remove myself from more than a few sticky confrontations more often than not without major harm ... still training to this day at 65 albeit in a reduced format ..... great to see this being taught traditionally .... cudos from Adelaide🙏

honestly, this bunkai does not look right to me. Why would I turn my back to the opponent? And why would the opponent wait for me turning and counterattacking if he can easily send another punch with a second hand right to my back or even back of my head

letters are beautiful but inefficient. If you learn letters, then you won’t be able to write a detective story or a novel. And you can’t prove to your wife that you didn’t have anything with your neighbor😏. Letters don't work in real life. In public schools, we are being deceived🤬. Fucking traditionalists😤

There are effective movements and tranzitions, combinations of strikes... Kata drills those in you to naturaly gain speed balans and whole movement without thinking. If you only train with real opponent you start to adapt and make bad habits. By training kata you get ability to have your own flow and break flow of your opponent and be unpredictable. Example, if you train just 2 punches and one kick to perfection of destructive power speed and tranzition speed, someone who trained for many years and know 100 techniques will need to adapt to you because you have devastating strikes and can constantly use them without lag in any position while he needs to reposition adjust balance and think of all of that. He will try to move around and start to focus on speed to avoid direct exchange and you just need do rush in and presure him, he loses even more balance and gets finished. See for example Samkor vs almost anyone. Guy uses just one left kick in any situation, to presure, to defend... and still other guys start to avoid and run around because in every exchange he deals more damage and could spam that same kick insanely fast. You could say that you mastered one strike if you cold use it while disbalanced on any surface in any footwear and put up a fight with that single move.
