They already have his musical theme in the game, so I'm sure it's just a matter of time. ;)

Nice playthrough; you even got both Blair and Allen appear as your opponent! Anyway, I was wondering what emulator are using for Fighting Layer/SF EX2 playthroughs, because I'm interested for giving Fighting Layer a try at some point.

Raivop Shmupmame is the one I’m using. I tried making groovymame work but I don’t have the patience.

Thanks. I will try Shumpmame then.

Raivop also the hard part about this playthrough was fulfilling the condition to get White Vold Ignatio to appear. You have to make Blair and Allen appear while finishing every single opponent with a Barrage Blow/Super. You can’t lose a round and you can’t use Elusion/Burst either. It took me a few hours to do, but this is the result. I’ve done the same thing using Blair but I don’t think people liked the costume I was using lol.

0:17 The intro of this game is strange, like another game where they put the mechanics on top of the characters or Lore?
@ArctheLadder5 ай бұрын
How do you mean?
@Miguelnoriega25 ай бұрын
@@ArctheLadder I mean that the intro of fighting layer, instead of showing the characters doing poses or the story, they promote its mechanics such as "barrage blow", "reversal" AND "super Cancel"

@@Miguelnoriega2 So Fighting Layer as a name is a pun. The game treats itself pretty meta textually... in plain terms, the game doesn't make any attempt to naturalize what it's doing regarding certain creative decisions/choices, such as what you're commenting about. Fighting Layer is open about the fact it's a video game. A lot of people get hung up about this sort of choice for motivating the device or a bunch of narrative choices you can lump into the school of "Structuralism." Basically, some explanations for how a story is constructed and why certain decisions are made. Even for video games. What the intro is is an "Attract Demo", which is a way to attract the attention of potential players/consumers with what the game is about or to create a curiosity about the game itself. I think that's what you're expecting, like how Final Fight basically explains the premise of the story (Save Jessica, she was kidnapped, her father and two friends take justice to the streets). Fighting Layer, which was made by the same creator, Akira Nishitani, chooses to attract people who are familiar with fighting games. The game actually had a webpage which explains its plot and characters. But for people who were in game centers/arcades, it's just showing what it has to offer in terms of depth. The name "Fighting Layer" is a pun. The word "Layer" also sounds like "Lair" which is where the "Enter the Dragon" style narrative of the game takes place, a literal dragon's lair (Dragon alluding to a vampire much like Dracula, Vold Ignatio). The "Layer" also alludes to the layers of depth the game presumably has with the subsystems/mechanics the game advertises. "Barrage Blows" are supers, "Easy Combination" are performed (much like Final Fight) by tapping the LP button in succession for most of the cast resulting in an auto combo, Super Elusion is a Burst which fills your super gauge... Basically, not every decision a game makes is going to achieve naturalizing or "Motivating the Device." It's not meant to ease you into the narrative, some are just done to establish the "Device" in question, to let you understand what the components of the toy/game even are, before the game even goes about doing anything dramatic with them. It's an eye catch that really just attempts to flex about what the game is about. Think of how the Killer Instinct attract demo won't shut the fuck up about how the game is going to be on the "Nintendo Ultra 64." That has nothing to do with Ultratech or the plot of the game. You can run this along a range, some games don't incorporate stuff into the narrative or plot... you're also experiencing advertising in those moments. There's my best explanation, congratulations I've written an extremely long KZbin comment lmfao.
