Hi Danny. I feel your pain mate. Veteran with ptsd and depression here. No access to my son, the ex bailed with him to Brisbane. Living in squaller with covid restrictions and to top if off......Canberra weather (yeah hard to believe worse than Victoria). No family nearby. I do the exact same thing, harley about 20km on a road and become lost in my own mind and turn around, go home and go to sleep. Can't seem to get on top of this burden.

Not long to go before we get our freedom back. My mental health got a tonic with planning a motorbike trip for next year in the USA, riding the Lincoln Hwy from sea to shining sea, I've got a 1975 Triumph Trident T160 stored near Seattle just waiting to be fired up. Today is a beautiful day here in the Dandenongs, I'll fire up the V-Rod for a 10km blast, that's our limit, but it's better than nothing.

@nerdymoto43533 жыл бұрын
Hi MDB, Great and honest videos, please keep them coming. They are called adventure bikes, not holiday bikes, or Sunday arvo bikes. It’s the journey that makes it an adventure, not the destination, and not whether it is ‘successful’. My tip - embrace the rain, ice and sleet. Tell Mother Nature to give it her best shot. Riding in terrible weather is still riding. My enjoyment and satisfaction totally changed when I stopped fighting to keep warm and dry. Embrace the weather, accept the cold, and remember that nobody every found enlightenment in a warm bed with a full stomach. If success is defined as keeping warm and dry you will be defeated at the first drop of rain. Dress like you know you will get soaked and frozen, and you can ride through anything.

I struggled for years and didn't know why. I have multiple health problems and my wife has been struggling for years with her health in a battle she is losing. I finally decided I needed help with the self condemnation, the negative thoughts and the fear that I felt. I am one of those that has made a career fixing other peoples problems but, I struggled with not being able to fix my own, heal my wife. There were and are days I just want to crawl in a hole and never come out. When I am unable to cope with my demons or talk with a therapist, I ride. I don't get the opportunity to ride as often as I want but, my bike gives me the opportunity to escape the hell that I feel my life has become. You can get on the interstate and scream at the top of your lungs and no-one hears you and it is incredibly relieving. I feel your pain. I too fight the demons inside me. Watching your blog encouraged me to seek help. If I could afford to, I'd come down under and we could ride. Not to perpetuate the growth of our demons but rather help pull each other out of the mire and just ride. If you come to the states, give me a call, we'll ride.
