Fighting rig/ALICE gear

This is my fighting rig

I'm used these in the army for years and now in the civilian world. the belt has to be tighter than you think with the alice system fitting is everything i marked my for sizing in sumer and winter. mine has a medical pouch has a hard shell box keeps stuff dry.

LBV ONLY holds 6 mags I personally like to carry more than a basic load, that why Id rather carry the ammo pouches! 4 are on my rig! Cool rig,something is always better than nothing!

You SHOULD get a butt pack for basic supplies such as food, rain poncho, spare mags, batteries, whatever

I hate to be a keyboard warrior, and I’m not ex military so take my word with a grain of salt, but I personally run Alice for my gunfighter kit as well. I would personally remove 3 of your magazines and add another full canteen of water. I would also change out the Walmart flashlight for a Streamlight, arisaka, or surefire. That’s the only input I can give

im thinking about Alice gear for my Airsoft loadout. im finding it to be cheaper and more durable. I am also a vietnam buff so i love the connection to that.

@Wabaanimkii I have one. I just dont have it on there becouse I use a ruck most of the time. the butt pack is great for short patrols scouting and day hikes! And your right it is a good piece of kit to have I just had my gear set up for the ruck in the vid. Thanks for the comment.

I ran the LC2 when I was in Army (joined in 1992).. Currently I run a MOLLE battle belt and a plate carrier with my armor and extra gear. However, in the rear of my SUV in my JIC kit (Just In Case) I have an LC2 setup for my AR. I have no issues with it and if something on it makes sound, that's what duct tape is for. It's good gear and will last you a long time! If you get a late carrier, you can utilize the space on it, and size your web gear to fit over it. Good kit, don't let anyone tell you different.

i used it back in the early 80's good system. you have to modify it to stop noise. i was a grunt/rto.with that said you dont want ammo pouches in the front. if you dont understand why lay prone once.i mix match molle and lc1/2 gear now of days.but nothing in my way up front.i like the older m-56 gear better for noise reduction. and comfort but i even mix and match some of that. but to run and gun, nothing beats a slung canteen and magazine shoulder bag. its a very light set up. you have to modify the mag bag with a strap that goes around your leg . it will keep it and the canteen from bouncing around to the front of you.think m-17 gas mask bag type strap

@opfor97 Yes sir it is. There are metal clips on the back of the pouches that you attach to the belt and you can put the pouches any were on the belt.

I always thought that the old nylon/A.L.I.C.E clip system was far more reliable than the new M.O.L.L.E. system. Hence my choosing the LC-1 Y-Strap harness system. My current system at the moment, employs 2 M16 mag pouches, a canteen+carrier, a machete+sheath and something else I can't recall at the moment. But anyway, long live A.L.I.C.E!!

@oldannyboy37 Thanks for the comment! Its a great pistol for the price! Havent had an issue with it, I probably have about 1000 to 1500 rounds through it so far and it works great. I do wish it had a ambi saftey and better sights.

That's way too many mag pouches, you should only need one and carry the rest of your ammo in a bandoleer. Having that many mag pouches will make it difficult for you to roll around. Just a tip.

only thing missing is a Vietnam era Butt Pack that attaches to belt and harness and gives you a lot of extra storage.

I was looking at this setup, but since I have the CF version (the '82 pat webbing) I wouldn't really NEED it....although maybe I could take the shoulder yoke off of mine at fit it too this....I dunno, but the CF shoulder straps are soooo comfy.

Honestly, I used to say the same thing. I think my own bias against MOLLE came from the early versions that, frankly, really were cr*p. But, I finally decided that I had to tinker with a vest a few months ago, to figure out just how much I hated it...And, to my surprise, I ended up not only doubling my ammo load, but also added my sidearm, expanded my IFAK, tripled my canteen capacity, and added a 3-day food supply. It weighs more, but I don't feel it like I would w/ an ALICE LBH & belt.

hey go with the H harness it works so much better you don't have a single point of movement it distributes more evenly on your back and less pull in the center...but your aid pack is coming off bro the stitching on the back of it is lack luster i had one once back in the day ...keep up the good work..

@opfor97 Got this gear a long time ago. Most of it was free the only things I paid for besides the stuff in the pouches was 1 rifle mag pouch (10 bucks) 1 pistol mag pouch (7 bucks) and the holster (20 bucks) hope that helps.

If you want to make more space or improve your Fighting rig/ALICE gear you can also purchase a thig rig for your m12 bianchi holster if you want to buy an extra 1 you may also use the other thig rig to attach other pouches as well

First of all, kudos for using the old LBE setup vs MOLLE. I used both in the Army, but if I had the choice I'd stick to the old Vietnam-era setup; much more comfortable and lightweight. MOBILITY IS KING! Second, it looks like your load is pretty uneven. Balance the weight evenly on both sides, and use a butt pack. Take some of that stuff that you don't need in a heartbeat, and shove it in there. You want to keep the things you need instantly uncluttered and easily accessible. Just my two cents.

not really however if you get MOLLE AK poches they can fit on Alice or you could get a MOLLE vest and even better. In my heart I will always love Alice but MOLLE is the one that compleats me.

As long as you and everyone else commenting realizes there's a reason we don't use ALICE stuff anymore. MOLLE is far better with noise discipline and offers more space to set up your rig. I would recommend running this with a FLC overtop. It's what I plan to do. I much prefer the feel of this belt to the MOLLE pistol belts. I'd also recommend using some 550 to tie the pouches to the belt. I've heard loads of stories of the clips getting worn out and people losing their stuff.
