Yesterday while I was streaming I had a couple of MAX RANK players come through to the lobbies on Dragon Ball Sparking Zero so NATURALLY I had to showcase it here on the channel. Watching this makes me want to see Tournaments being held in this game. With different tiers like pokemon. Like the UI's and Fusions being the ubers or 10point tier then the hit and SS4s being the high tier. Yall see where I'm going with this. Lotus would be one of the dopest commentators/competitors or maybe like Doto on the mic. Just putting this in the universe

The ranking points should be determined on DP score of characters. If you beat a 4 DP character with a 10 DP character, your ranked score should barely increase. But if you win with a 4 DP against a 10 DP, your rank should go up quite a bit. (Ranked Single)

I have a sneaking suspicion that once the game gets going, at the top level of play there will be basically no combos because of super counter. Its stops everything always no exception so assuming you can time it which top players will be able to, combos just don't exist

The Super Counter is very hard to do. The revenge counter is a good mechanic because you can counter that if you see it coming.

revenge counter should take either a skill bar or a ki bar, doing that at no cost at any time, and simply being restricted by a hard timing is insane. There should be SOME way to have a true combo

I got to say Lotus, I am surprised to see that you haven’t started tuning a full team of Trunks yet. No lie I admire the self control lol. But nah for real I would love to see you run like a Trunks trio. I’m thinking Trunks Melee, Kid Trunks, and DBS Trunks. All in Base so you can fit them on the DP team and so you can later get the transformation buff. I’m currently practicing with Super. Buff Trunks, because I think that form is underrated, needs more love, and I want to make his gameplay work. But one team I really want to do is a Gohan Trio. Kid Gohan, Future Gohan, and Adult Gohan. I heard their Blast 1 skills are decent and that Adult Gohan does damage when you transform him into SSJ2 instead of starting out in it.

12:01 how do you do the faster one?? I figured it out you can do downward triangle then press triangle again to vanish then after first vanish press square 2 times(on standard controls) if u wanna extend mash triangle after the 2 squares. Also some characters have combos that can do that just go to explanation of controls then their check their heavy finishes if it can combo into the move with "delta" in it's name(i forgot the name)

I think a good change to vanish would be, after you vanish you can choose to go high, low or reset. So instead of playing the vanish game. The player either gets a hit (could be a simple knockback) or the opponent successfully blocks and you get knocked back. Basically like a perception counter

I think it's fine as it is vanish clashing is a good way to burn someone's ki and if your at the highest level sometimes it's better just to let them win the clash if your down in ki and they don't have enough for a move after the knock back

Just wanted to give my 2 cents. Defense is definitely really strong but this is by design, people haven't figured out the combos yet but if they are anything like BT2 and 3 you can be stuck in a combo for up to 70 hits which can do upwards of 3 bars of hp (this is assuming ofc you aren't super countered / barriered, etc). I do agree that people need to be encouraged to fight more but I won't be surprised if offense is really strong in the future when people optimize their routes.

The stronger characters are fun to use for sure, but if the “top” players are mainly using the op characters then it’s really 80% the character and 20% them. It’s not really hard to beat someone when one quick attack does half an hp bar. And I’m not shaming them for using strong characters either, but it’s also really not impressive. It also kinda sucks that you’re forced to use op characters yourself to stand a chance. Also, I’ll say that the game is definitely focused more so on how defensive and reactive you can be than instead of how aggressive. However, the defensive mechanics are too… easy and cheap to use. Literally just mash your controller and you’ll get a lucky evasion 70% of the time. Very annoying in ranked when I see my opponent spamming perception and I’m not even hitting them. The fact that you can do this WHILE being hit just makes it even worse. Hopefully they add some kind of steep ki requirement to the more spammier defensive options so it’s not just a mash fest

It's not hard to figure out why it's not balanced. Personally, I like watching the completive settings. I only enjoy playing around on clearly unfair stuff is fun from time to time, not watching it all the time.

If it’s really an issue when it comes to that they have the ability to play one on ones with ability items, and there’s a item that gives you at least a bar and a half of health, I did that with my ssj3 goku. The demands you want would completely ruin the game and it’s concept it wouldn’t make sense for ui to be as strong as master Roshi. I’ve had nothing but fun with one on ones, I think team battles are good too but I’ve played maybe two of those battles

I stated that unfair stuff is fun from time to time, if you disregard the typo. In the case of watching, seeing people get steamrolled in unbalanced or unmatched ways gets stale real fast. The only way I'd get enjoyment out of unfair advantages is if it's self-imposed. Something like some kind of difficult underdog challenge against competent players. @sleepylmguy9968 bc its not balanced. It takes damn near 0 ki to vanish, the circle counter is free sway is free up square is free and they all have 0 draw backs. Attacking has drawbacks inherently. To attack you have to leave yourself open and certain attacks leave you more vulnerable than others blast attacks take a considerable amount of ki you cant use the same attacks consecutively or your combo drops etc. The skill point counter where you click the analog stick isn't even really necessary outside of flexing on someone. it's the most balanced defensive option with actual drawbacks and shocker you don't really see people use it especially at a high level bc why waste a skill point when I can mash up square and get out of a combo for free 😂? At the highest level the game is a vanish fest. Nothing wrong with being able to defend but it shouldn't be all free. The better the options the more the cost or difficulty should be in executing it
