Every sailor I watch (a lot of them) are discouraged being out on a flat, calm sea with no wind. I think that is where I would set up camp and hang out for a week or six. That would be my destination. No, I wouldn’t get bored.

My short Ode from a Seadog Old For something I like, if I may be so bold... See the Sisters sailing on the Sea One named Tika with Sailing Master Molly Though I'm far to old for that to be me As I've had all my time to be wild and free So I sit and watch capable Wind Hippie Who fills my heart like the living sap of a tree

Good for you. When I was cruising, my 46’ boat had a 1700 mi motoring range! Yeah that will spoil you. But you have something even better………….your sister!! Yaaaay. So nice that you can do this together. And yes, it is a bit of a gutsy passage. You are amazing. Fair winds.

I love your poetry, ladies. I think you should narrate the next leg of your voyage in verse. None of the other sailing channels are doing this! Hope you get all your repairs done, though.

Hi Holly, just watched your latest video. My wife and I are sailors here in NZ. If you haven't already got a new main sail, look up Sam Burton from Burton sails in Tauranga. He made new sails for our boat and thet are beautifully made and very well priced compared to the other sail lofts in Auckland. Enjoy NZ I can't wait to see the rest of the passage.

This can be a blustery trip especially this time of year. So far you have been lucky with the sea conditions, you can often get mega seas, not really dangerous but can be exhausting. Halfway through I was going to comment that the main might not last but I don’t think I deserve much credit for being right. Grew up in Auckland, did NZ Fiji several times racing and cruising and some round South Pacific trips so your videos bring back good memories. You are a very practical, hardy and courageous sailor and I hope you both enjoy the land of the long white cloud.

When you get to NZ, look into getting a 10 -15 hp outboard (sailboat length shaft) mounted on a transom that moves up and down. Make sure steering is tightened, start motor, steer how you normally would.

It’s fun watching you two interact with each other in such a small place and still be so happy & inquisitive. One of the things that I’ve always admired about you Holly is that you don’t try to set us up with what we’re seeing, especially the weather. I won’t mention any names but it kind of makes you wonder what’s up when someone is on deck during a storm, talking about how bad it is……then, decides they need to “stop everything” to go dose the Dogs with a anti-depressant and has to WAKE THEM UP to do it…. I always know with your videos that if anything, you downplay so many things that would make anyone else feel insecure, anxious, and in a dangerous situation, but I have to remember that you have a “Skill Set” like very few people I’ve ever met , especially women…. That being said, I wish you would start posting daily! LOL! ❤😂

Sandeep … your a nice person to want to help them , shame you missed being of service to them , would have been great to get them out of trouble at the time , it’s a pitty your government immigration there doesn’t seem to care about safety for them , I feel annoyed about that , their visa was expired but could of let them get there engine fixed , not cool at all if they had to leave like that.
