This complete tour of Filey Promenade shows a full seafront walk from the South Beach, along the prom, past all the holiday chalets, paddling pool, cafe's and shops and down to the lifeboat station, food stalls and boats and onto Filey Beach.
Filey is a seaside and holiday resort in North Yorkshire, England. It has always been a traditional fishing town but became popular when people from nearby Scarborough began visiting it for a break from the hustle and bustle of their home town.
Soon after Filey became more and more developed with the building of Filey Promenade and improvements made to Filey Beach as well as Butlins opening a Butlins Holiday Camp here. This Butlins even had it's very own railway station specially built to bring in the holidaymakers!
Filey is a beautiful resort and definitely worth a visit to see the Filey coast and seafront as well as the cliffs and beautiful scenery here.
This Filey Promenade tour hopefully inspires you to pay a visit here and enjoy either a day trip or a relaxing holiday!

Great child hood memories with mum and dad and sister stayed in a chalet at Reighton sands holiday camp in 1983 went back in 84 and stayed in Bridlington . Still the best fish and chips used to play on the beach at Filey brig and watch the fishing boats being towed by a tractor most of the day has really changed but still a beautiful place . Will have to bring my son and family and show them my family holiday.

I have happy memories of days out in Filey as a child in the 1960s, particularly the swing boats (at the funfair) and the paddling pool. It’s a lovely resort for young families.

I haven't been there for over 20 years but it certainly has had a face lift and change, The improvement is amazing and a credit to the town as it retained its charm and character but looks so refreshed and truly beautiful. Hi Guys just back looking at your Filey video,my wife Anne used to work at the Yorkshire Bank in town in the1970'st and every summer her mum & dad would hire a chalet for the six weeks and we would take our three youngsters up to Filey every day whatever the weather during the school hols never a dull moment.It's a nice little town and nearly moved there in the middle 80's. Great Stuff.

Great video's, just relived many a holiday down that way, go every few years and always do Whitby, Scarborough, Filey, Bridlington and the surrounding areas. We always take photos of our twin sons standing next to the fountain on Filey prom, have about 4 photos of them over various years, they're now 12 and we got a photo of them next to it last week, although they weren't impressed it's good to see them getting bigger in each photo, it's all about the memories, thanks.

I love Filey, its very close to where i live in Bridlington, and go quite often. it can get quite busy, but if you come in the evening all the day tripper's have gone home. The Fish and Chips here are lovely. When i was a child My Mum and Dad used to take me to Filey in the evening, and we would park on the seafront and walk along the Promanade, fantastic memories of a beautiful place.

Haven't been here since 2012, I used to have a week at Primrose Valley nearly every year back then. Beaut view of Scarborough in the distance from the Brigg. It's a decent place for a holiday to be able to also visit both Scarborough, Bridlington and even Whitby whilst you're staying there, too. On the day you had to pack up and leave (say "good-bye" to) the Caravan, you could just cry because you just wanna stay.

Always loved Filey always stayed there for holidays as a kid we were there in October 2020. Parking can be a nightmare when it's busy especially if you are older and can't walk so far. One of the cleanest beaches on the east coast a lovely walk on Filey Brigg a shame all the Coble fishing boats have gone from the cobble landing.

We visited Sunday gone and it was so disappointing due to the weather! I’m an absolute lover of the beach and coming from landlocked Sheffield when we arrived you couldn’t see a thing due to what’s called the Fret which is like a thick fog caused by severe temperatures! Gutted after watching this and seeing how beautiful it is on a clear day 😭

@@GimbalWalkTV It was so bad and eerie! You could see it about 3 miles inland sort of hovering over the coast line and then when we entered Filey we were in the thick of it! You could actually see the mist swirling and moving and at one point you could hardly see several meters in front of yourself. I suppose it was an experience- I never knew this could happen so at least now I know but such a shame😭🐬⚓️

What a real find ur channel is, I came across it by accident. I went to Filey last October for the first time and it was a lovely day despite the time of year. I was glad to stumble upon your video as it’s good to know you can rent the chalets. It’s a shame people aren’t social distancing but to be expected I suppose. The east coast far out ways the west coast.I noticed you filmed in cleethorpes and did the land train, you need to do the light railway ( sorry if u did and I missed it). Son carrio Majorca is a lovely place if you get the chance to go and film. Keep it up 😀

Ah thank you so much! We are trying to grow the channel by word of mouth so any sharing you could do would be wonderful! I've filmed the light railway in Cleethorpes - that video is on the way in a couple of weeks As for Majorca you've read my mind! I keep booking flights out there and keep getting flights cancelled so am trying - soon as I can get a flight out I will be filming like mad! Ohh, I’m glad u did the railway. I did it last year and it was great. Majorca is very good at social distancing lol and son carrio maybe small but it has a lovely church. I can’t wait for your view point if you get out there, sa coma and Cala Millor are lovely too. I’m going to watch ur other videos as u visit the places I like😀

Don’t worry, subscribed last night after watching the Filey video!!! Will be watching the others over the week. I’m still laughing a little cos u made that walk look really long along Filey. We had parked near the golf course and walked back down to the end where the amusements were. It only seemed to take two minutes but u got loads of time out of it. We also saw the life boat go out, u would have loved seeing the m3 pull it out. I’m looking forward to ur new videos and I’m sorry for the spoiler alert for ur other cleethorpe video. If u need any other ideas for Majorca, let me know cos there are loads. Even if u have been before I might be able to give u new places and hopefully u can show everyone great places. Keep it up😀

I love Filey, it’s got a more relaxed feeling to Scarborough. We live over 200 miles away, but if we spend time with my family in Leeds, we try to go to either Filey or Scarborough.we couldn’t find a chip shop serving gluten free products, where as Scarborough has a really good one.

One thing always puzzles me why was Filey butlins closed and Skegness butlins gotta full revamp the area where Filey butlins was is picturesque and Filey town / seafront absolutely beautiful , not a lot to shout about at Skegness

Did you walk up the long road to town. Use to come here when I was little with my brother and mum dad. It as changed a lot for the better. We use to go to rock pools on beach nearly got cut off by sea coming in lol. X carry on with your good videos x
