It may be worth investigating the work of Richard Thompson, especially in the mid 70s. A convert to Sufism, his music is completely interwoven with its themes and poetry in a manner that is very inspirational to my own craft. Also an incredible guitarist, my favourite.

Now 'Tomorrow Never Knows' is perhaps my favorite song of all time for a short sing with outstanding lyrics that hold for more truth than most in such a short timespan. Did not know George had such an influence on this as I always thought of John as the writer and one who had such deep thoughts into the true meaning and values of this song. Thanks

This is great. Could you do one on Yusuf / Cat Stevens? He’s the only legend from back in the day that dropped everything so drastically for spirituality. Then his return was amazing too. Like Homer coming back to tell his people what he’s seen

Very nice vlog. A key term worth noting in this context is 'kirtan', a call-and-response style chant song, often accompanied by iconic group dance steps in the Gaudiya Vaishnava tradition.

A great subject for a video would be the hardcore punk subculture of Krishnacore. Bands like Shelter, 108 and the Cro-Mags that blend hardcore punk and Krishna Consciousness.

Thank you Filip. Yes. Music as devotional practice, with chanting also. People make a distinction between Love and Knowledge. Closer movement may reveal the interdependence of each. Was the snippet of music at the end of this video in 6/8 time? I'm not musically trained, but have always been drawn to interesting "eastern" rhythms. One I particularly like is called Kopanitsa - from bulgarian folk music I believe. Perhaps even more ancient. Many thanks, I will look out for the new release come friday.

I've always had a particular fondness for the way "My Sweet Lord" presents an almost synchronized spirituality, using both Abrahamic Christian and Hindu Hare Krishna chants to praise God.

A meme came across my facebook page that I found stunningly interesting. It claimed that both Krishna & Siddhartha were both direct descendants of Abraham through His 3rd wife Keturah and their son Midian. I had never even heard of this possibility before, but I did know that Muhammad is a descendant of Abraham through his concubine Hagar and their son Ishmael, and that Baha'u'llah is a direct descendant of Abraham, also through Keturah (and also of the Sassanid royalty). Thoughts?

That all religions are universal expressions of God's love for the world made manifest in the Manifestations of God (Jesus, Krishna, etc) is one of the core beliefs of the Baha'i Faith and it's summoning the world to Unity; the superficial differences that religious followers glom onto and magnify the importance of are unimportant compared to the sameness of Holy Spirit that all religions are meant to manifest in the world.
