Filipino "Blood Chicken" for dinner

Come on a walk through Barangay West Rembo (aka the Italy of Europe) as we practice Tagalog, eat blood chicken, and have some shots.
"Blood chicken" (dinuguang manok) is sauteed chicken that is then dipped in a gravy that is made from water, blood, bay leaves, and pepper, and then the whole thing is BBQ'd to taste. It's rich, savory, and surprisingly delicous.

Right! So many Americans like Kurt say that this community-centeredness culture that is so common in the Philippines is what the US was like long ago... As an American, what we have in the US with this "individualism" has not been a good thing. Unfortunately, the US "culture" is affecting even the Philippines as some Filipinos (Americanized ones) think that moving away from community-centeredness is the way to go. Fatal mistake.

Unfortunately, we are in the era of narcissism. Though “me” is in the word “team”, it doesn’t make up the whole word and without work, it wouldn’t flourish. Any person who's staying still and doing nothing is called a Tambay. Tambay is a noun. To make it a verb, you say "nagtatambay" (loitering) or tumatambay. Both can be used inter-changeably. Hang-out place is called Tambayan. What you're doing, which is walking around, is called "gumagala" or "pagala-gala" then you add "lang" (only or just).

Grabe ka, you got everything down to a T. Whenever you say "Ayyyyyyy...." That is a very local expression but you'd here that mostly in the provinces like Batangas or Laguna or seniors in Metro Manila. There's no hint of being a foreigner whenever you speak in Tagalog. The accent is perfect.

Tanong lang para sa mga kapwa Pinoys, and for the sake of Kurt’s learning din. Anong mas madalas gamitin, “nagtatambay” o “tumatambay”? Grammatically speaking, pareho silang actor-focus (note the affix -um- and mag-). Correct me din if I am wrong pero feeling ko mas ginagamit ang “tumambay”. Eto kasi ang mas naririnig ko based from my experience. Kaya po ako nagtatanong. TIA.
