BTW, the original last name of my paternal grandpa, who was pure Spanish (his parents from Madrid, Spain) & was born & raised in Pampanga, was "Ocampo". Then it became "de Ocampo". Then my grandpa & his siblings changed it to "Deocampo". My Grandpa's family moved from Pampanga to Ilocos Sur, where he met my Grandma there. So my Grandpa spoke Kapampangan & Ilocano fluently. But when he enlisted in the U.S. Army, he was stationed in Corregidor, where my dad & his siblings where born. My Grandpa served in WWI & WWII & retired in the U.S. Army. (I'm also retired U.S. military from the Air Force branch.) Anyway, we might be related due to our surname? I might visit the Philippines this Feb 2024 from the U.S. Hopefully, I can meet you then or someday 🤗?

BTW, your family should visit the small island of Corregidor (that looks like a tadpole & part of the province of Cavite) & the province of Bataan, where my paternal grandpa & grandpa's first born son (my uncle & my dad's eldest brother) were POWs & survivors of the Bataan Death March. Both are in Luzon. I don't see YTers, except for one, whose family is from Bataan, visit those two regions, Corregidor & Bataan. There's a nice hotel in Corregidor from what I heard (also in Bataan) that you can stay in, too. When we went there in the 1970s, there was no hotel, so it was only a whole day visit.

But I wrote that might as well we could be related because they said that the "Ocampos, de Ocampos, and Deocampos" who are from Pampanga are not than likely related. Also, I suggested to visit the Corregidor Island, where my dad & younger siblings were born and in which there's now a luxurious hotel from what I was told. The last time I visited there was in the 1970s. There was no hotel so we spent the whole day there and went there via ship. Another place to visit is Bataan in Cavite province.
