I used to work with homeless individuals. You can only do what you can do for that person. What he or she do going foward it's on them. Their in a desperate mode, it may be that they couldn't make it, all you can do accept the no-show and move on. Many of my clients told me one thing and did the other. In any case you tried and you made an offer, that's a blessing he or she had. God bless and good work.

While I don’t have the exact statistics, my personal experience working to help the homeless by creating job opportunities has shown me that almost all of them struggle with deep, debilitating depression. This often leads to setbacks, not because they lack effort, but because their mental state prevents them from seeing any hope or light in their situation. It’s important to approach this with patience. Perhaps consider giving him another chance-it often takes baby steps to make progress with individuals in such vulnerable states. Their ability to focus on the future is impaired, and they need people like us to provide support and show them there is a glimmer of hope ahead.
