Team Jack here. Especially since, when Hurley yells at Locke to stop, he doesn't do it to at least listen to his explanations. Worse, he lights the fuse without worrying about Hugo who then heads towards the dynamite. Only Jack holds him back and pins him to the ground to avoid the worst. While Locke calmly heads towards the safe place where Kate already is. As with Boone, the bald guy is more concerned with his desire to discover the secrets of the island than with making sure his companions are safe. And that is dangerous and could pose a future problem as Jack thinks. Can’t wait for Season 2. 😊

Re: Jack vs. Locke - Science vs. Faith My take on the debate - it's not about which is correct in the world of Lost. In a show with unequivocal supernatural elements, obviously we're meant to side with believing in more; it's what drives the mystery. However, Locke may sound wiser as a self-proclaimed "man of faith", the deeper dichotomy is: are you believing in a story because it sounds good to you this moment, or do you hold on to the skepticism of "do not mistake every coincidence for fate"? Blind faith can lead you to a trap, where "Boone was just a sacrifice the island demanded", or where you ignore the supernatural warnings of blowing open the hatch, just to play the game of satisfying your curiosity because "it's destiny". This interpretation of faith can be proven to be very wrong. Which "signs" do you listen to and how do you interpret them? Who gets the answer correct this time? Remember, things are not what they seem, so what you think/believe you're reading from fate may not be what it is either.

As I said in an earlier comment, one of the most amazing things about the making of LOST is that 2 months before the pilot aired, they didn't have a complete script, no one had been cast and they didn't even know where they were going to film it, which if you have any knowledge of how TV shows work, is absolutely insane. In just two months they did all of that plus filming, editing as well as writing and recording the score. And somehow it all came together to make one of the best shows ever made.

@@jxsh03 Also, once you watch the entire show, it potentially puts certain scenes in a different light. I say 'potentially' because to this day people argue on what certain scenes actually mean, even if they're rewatched the show many times. @Zippy_815Ай бұрын
Yeah, just ignore people upset with you for missing the 16-year gap for the others. You're bound to miss a few things during your first time watching. The theories I came up with the first time I watched were insane and made no sense. I legit thought I saw a gorilla arm dragging Locke down the hole 😂 (in my defense, I was 9 and we relied on watching standard definition live, we had to use a VHS to even rewatch before the DVDs dropped). As a rewatcher, it's incredibly easy to point out the "obvious," but the whole reason we're here is to watch your FIRST time reacting. I will say that Lost is one of the shows that you simply have to watch more than once to get the full experience. It's not just a matter of missing the obvious, but also missing details you don't even know are important yet. JUST looking at season one, you'd be shocked how many times the numbers come up before they are even introduced, yet you'd never know to look for them.

Yes! Great reaction! LOST's general mythology was created in S1 - the later seasons which some are not huge fans of... most people who do not like them criticise them for feeling like "it went off the rails" or that "they were clearly making it up as they went"... when in reality majority of the plans for those later seasons were created in the early days of the show - they had a plan and they stuck to it pretty much. Sure they had to improvise along the way... there are always uncontrollable elements when you have so many years ahead that you can't plan what'll happen with actors etc. or if people like or dislike things in the show they have to be adaptable to fix or make things work better... but overall they had a plan and they stuck to it. The people who said they thought they were making it up as they went simply just are not aware of how the show was all planned out. It's fair that what they watched "felt" like it was being made up as it went to them... but it's just not the reality. The show simply takes its darn time to get to the core heart of its mythos and by the time it got there people got something they had not expected and they felt like the tonal shift and direction was too much. But in truth it was the direction the writers had been heading to from the start. Those people that hated on the show felt that way because they felt the show was moving in a way they felt was 'unplanned', but the truth is they just didn't like the fact that they'd placed too many expectations and hopes on a show being what they wanted to be and didn't let it be the story the writers were wanting to tell. They liked it for feeling like a specific type of genre, a specific tone, a specific pace, a very specific premise - but as the show evolves it reveals itself to be multi-genre in a way and has many stages to its larger narrative - as it changes just remember it's all part of a larger plan, yes they had to work it out on the way but they knew the general direction - that is 100% sure. So I tell everyone - keep your minds open with this show and watch it closely. They are laying the grounds for all the main story themes all the time, you have to watch closely and listen closely and reflect on it all, scrutinise it all closely the way you do a good book in your English Literature class in school. Each line, each reference, each episode title, each song used, the track titles on the soundtracks, the call backs to other episodes from seasons prior, the juxtapositions of scenes, the dramatic ironies thrown in here or there - the writers are directly and indirectly telling you all the time the type of show they are carving out overall. It's so much more than a story of people stranded on a desert island, and it's so much more than just a cool mystery show - they are maximising every opportunity they can to tell one of the most epic stories of life, death, survival and so much more! I am so really excited to keep following your journey, you've been great so far. Looking forward to S2 and congrats on completing the greatest season of television ever made!

We will agree to disagree. The last season was trash. I will die on that hill. The character development is so good I "somewhat" forgive it, but no, just no. This and GOT have been my 2 heartbreaks with their final seasons. So much wasted in the end. But I agree, for those who love the characters and the 'mystery' is just background noise, they did love the ending. For the rest of us, not so much. Still along for the ride though... 1st 4 seasons are just too darned good.

@@kempkennedy3542 There's a way to enjoy it - I know many that loved the characters and the mysteries as equal parts and they too enjoyed the later seasons, even if they were lower in their ranking compared to other season - they still overall enjoyed them. @kempkennedy3542 I too think season 6 is the weakest, but precisely because the character work is weak for most of the main cast, and major emotional payoffs are undercut by the flawed side plot. As for the mythology and lore, whether I like or dislike it for what it is, I can work to suspend my disbelief for the sake of immersion. I totally understand your frustration with it though. It's utter nonsense that people dislike the ending because "they just didn't understand the complexity". I personally really like the finale, but the first 2/3 of the last season is just painful.

@@ImmortalDecember "I personally really like the finale, but the first 2/3 of the last season is just painful." You were surgical here. That's exactly it.
