This is what I hate most about Carmela and Meadow they will go and tell Tony something they know will set him off. They known how he is and when he reacts the way everyone knows he will, they will throw up their hands and act innocent and then try and shame Tony.
@gregsgoogle29479 ай бұрын
Not true about Meadow. She never sought out her dad to tell him about Vito & the security guard. She knew about Vito for a long time & said nothing. Not until it became common knowledge did she say something. If you want to think something bad about Meadow maybe think how she’s trying to use Finn.... as a ticket out of Jersey. She keeps Finn in the dark about most of what she knows about her mob family ties. Tells Finn that his fears of Vito are no big deal. She’s downplaying things to Finn she knows are serious. She senses her relationship with Finn is on thin ice because of her past & the more he knows the chances of him bolting go up.

Something like that?), i.e.--movie magic, they're filming in Boonton but Vito is "in New Hampshire."

A nice Breaking Bad chiral with this episode - BB also has an episode titled 'Live Free Or Die', as it's the New Hampshire motto, as seen on the licence plate of Walt's car in the S5E1 flash-forward opening scene (the car he steals in 'Felina'). Both Vito and Walt escape to NH to hide from the people they know once their secrets are discovered: Vito, somewhat content to freely roam around in public, a criminal whose family - *the* family - can't accept him for who is, and Walt, miserable as sin and having to hide away because his family could never accept him for becoming a criminal.

I suppose something in side me says, "God bless, a' salut'"" in the space of two minutes, and Melfi didn't even have to say a word to him. I also love how Tony feels the need to prove his heterosexuality to Melfi by saying, "And just for the record, my incarceration was very short term, so I never had any need for any anal... you know?" and "You think I'm lyin', don't you? About when I was in jail", as if it bothers Melfi at all. It's kind of a case of "the lady doth protest too much."

What’s up with this fantasy that Angie is a strong & independent woman?? She works for the mafia now. Tony let her keep the body shop so he could use it & her as cover for all his car crimes (air bag scam, chopped stolen cars for Italy.. etc). That’s what Ro was saying... Angie used to be a mob wife but now she’s a mobster. As an employee of Tony’s crew... Angie is more dependent on Tony than Carmela is as his wife. Angie is just another version of Tracee. One mistake & your dead. Now tell me how awesome Angie is.
@steelydanlover19729 ай бұрын
I think Elie is just impressed that Angie is the only one of the mob wives on the show who has been able to achieve any significant degree of financial independence from her husband or significant other. The fact that Angie is making her money illegally is beside the point. Funny thing is though, Angie was only able to achieve this financial independence AFTER Pussy was gone from her life. Angie would never have been to achieve this type of financial independence if Pussy was still in her life.
@gregsgoogle29479 ай бұрын
@@steelydanlover1972 Wasn’t commenting on his reaction but more to the overall attitude in the comments that Angie is doing good for herself. Truth is... she was more financially independent when she was giving away free sausages at the store. Then she was only beholden to Tony for her stipend. And she tried to take advantage of that using her healthy dog as a ploy. Angie is regressing. She’s not progressing. She owns & runs a criminal enterprise founded by her dead mafia husband. Quantity of money isn’t financial independence when it can & will be all taken away in an instant because it’s all predicated on crime. Angie has exposed herself to a long prison sentence. And to FBI surveillance. And to the wrath of Tony if she ever crosses him. How do things always turn out for Tony’s employees?? Georgie?? The lawn guy?? Tracee?? Davie?? They end up broke or dead. Even cops that worked for Tony turn up dead eventually. Amazing. Some people are so far behind they actually think they’re winning!! Angie is one of those people.
@steelydanlover19729 ай бұрын
@@gregsgoogle2947 Okay, I should have worded this better. Yes, Angie is financially dependent on Tony. However, here is the kicker, by owning and operating Pussy's old auto shop, Angie rakes in more money for herself than any of the other mob wives, none of whom run a business. Of course, Angie is kicking her money upstairs to Tony, but her position as owner and operator of Pussy's old body shop means that she is at the very least the same level as an associate of a Mafia crime family, even though she is a woman. This position of associate, even just a woman associate, of a Mafia crime family already means she has more financial independence than any of the other mob wives. Ultimately, however, you are right, she would have greater financial independence if she stuck to giving out free food samples at her local supermarket. However, she still has greater financial independence as the owner and operator of Pussy's old body shop than Carmela, Rosalie or Gabriella.

It's so odd in that even though Bobby, Patsy and Tony don't care at all that Vito is gay, they know what their line of work is and the culture that goes along with it. As a result, they have to pretend that they care that Vito is gay, even to just a lesser extent, in order to stay in the good graces of guys like Carlo, Paulie and especially the guys who are part of the older generation, who they have to work with, where homosexuality is especially frowned upon.

The Vito arc is probably the most controversial in the show. A lot of people wished it just wasn’t included or even thought it was “woke”. A lot of the cast members didn’t like Vito’s actor also because he apparently wanted to shine more in the sopranos so he lost the weight and came up with the gay storyline but the writers liked it and went with it. I enjoy it but I can also see how some people think that it’s a weirdly injected arc born from a man who wanted the fame. Especially considering how his actor today is still just doing random advertising for money on social media he’s a good actor but pretty shameless ngl
