First one is Marines and they still use that type of recruiting videos. The Army has always focused on topics that would be approved of by parents (college, education, etc.) because statistically parents play a huge roll in whether a recruit joins the Army.
@WraithlikeLuke9 ай бұрын
True, also on average the Marines have the youngest demographic of enlisted, between 17 and 18. They use the Title “Marine” almost like a selling product in and of itself, which attracts aspiring, sometimes directionless young men, and it works. They were the only branch to make the numbers quota last year. Whereas other branches rely more on money, jobs, and education. In this they attract a different demographic of people. Interesting stuff really.

She is not a good person and is painted pretty clearly as a kind of evil and crazy character. In the end, the AI she created didn’t even work. It got stuck repeating one word over and over again. The whole point of “anti-AI” propaganda is to instill fear in the subconscious of the masses (you can find some neuroscience article explaining how this works), so they can come up with “government measures" and "regulations” to extend state control over the population in order to "prevent the worst from happening". This is perfectly aligned with current geopolitics and the agenda of agencies and organizations such as the "You will own nothing and be happy" club (whose members rule the Media and Hollywood). There’s a big difference between Carrie Fisher AI, and Mark Hamill AI. People were upset about Carrie Fisher AI being used because Carrie has unfortunately passed and cannot give consent for this AI to replicate her face and her likeness. Mark Hamill is alive. He received a paycheck for Luke’s de-aged appearance since he helped in the creation of that scene. Mark was there as a character model and was used for reference. Disney straight up denied negotiating with Carrie’s family for her likeness, reads as they didn’t pay her family for her AI appearance. Fans can be both okay with Mark giving his consent for his AI model and upset with Carrie’s unapproved AI appearance.

@@100000Andy All we could hope for is having AI replace all the menial and dangerous jobs, and humans free to work solely in creative, artistic, and philosophical capabilities. The problem most people (myself included) have with it is that it has done the opposite. humans work menial and dangerous jobs because somehow its actually cheaper than artificial labor, and AI is replacing the creative and artistic roles. Which if you dont understand the issue is that these things (AI gen artwork, writing, deepfakes) is overwhelmingly done by stealing other artists or writers work without their permission or rights... What we get is just a generic amalgamation of these things, of course referencing and learning from other artists is what we do as well, but human artists add these influences to their own style and worldview. Not probable that AI will have original thoughts anytime soon
@100000Andy9 ай бұрын
@@BuddyWudzynyou label human thoughts as original and AI work as stealing. However you are not able to show that there is a clear difference between how the AI works and how the human brain works. Its the same thing. AI art is as original as human art. AI donest work like a database, where you store a bunch of information and the AI just patches it together. The training data to AI is like you going into a museum and looking at other artworks, learning how to draw face by looking at other drawn faces.

This is a little ironic, since in Fantasia, the short "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" has Mickey create "living" brooms that do all of his chores for him. Even though he thought this would make life easier for him, the brooms are TOO good at their job of filling up the well, flooding the entire room. This is a little similar to how AI was originally introduced and was used for fun, now for it to be mass producing content that harms pretty much every artist or writer even if it was unintentional.
@r3dp910 ай бұрын
An exponentially growing quantity of brooms is bad, sure. But if the apprentice had the discipline and knowledge to stop at 5 brooms, a number that he could easily babysit to keep them out of trouble? That would be a good thing. In fact, that's what the automation revolution is all about - fewer people doing more work, freeing up other people to do other work (such as the programming and logistics needed to support automation in the first place). The question isn't IF to use AI, the question is how much to use AI, and the answer to that question will vary as artists, industries, and consumers continue to adapt and learn.

Long time ago I written a book about an alien race that have AI units integrated into homes ships, and various things. They have their own personalities and so forth. They were not made to replace people in jobs, They were used as aids or worker companions. Per example, in our world a Police officer often has a partner, well in this alien race, their partner is their ship whom has an AI unit. It seems rare to see a story where there is no disparate between AI and organics. So I'm kinda a rarity in story telling.

The change in stories about AI being the bad guy vs the good guy, is a cycle that flips every few decades. Look at movies involving AI before the 80s, they're often the friendly helper robots. 15:40-16:08 This whole criticism of using AI generated images is not just happening within Disney movies. Just a couple months ago, a horror movie, “Late Night with the Devil,” used a few AI generated still images for a few moments and that part about the movie got criticized too. Even though everything else about it was well praised. I bring this movie up, because I actually had the chance to see it back in April. (I know it technically came out last year, but that was only seen by those who happened to be at South by Southwest in Austin at that point. But it’s still very recent to the rest of us that weren’t there.)

My one nitpick though is that the reason people were more outraged with rogue one's AI and not as much with the mandalorian's AI is because rogue one brought someone back to life without their permission, while the mandalorian did have their permistion. I've already seen a few fan discords of certain characters have dedicated spaces for CharacterAI work - separate from fanfic postings but people love it and I think it will creep into fanfic sites if it hasn't already. AI work is already allowed in Ao3 as part of their archival process.

I was doing research on Japanese art and I couldn’t find what I was looking for so I had the idea of asking chat gpt (even though I was skeptical) for some things and I got some results (i fact checked it too). But I had then thought hey what if I asked it for art tips? And guess what? It answers. So then I thought, what about all of those KZbin tutorials that I’ve watched of people giving out tips? Would they all just fade away and be replaced with ai one day? Will there be a day where AI replaces teachers? A day where the level of skill for entry in certain jobs be so high that only a robot could teach it to you? Trust me when I say I feel your pain because I’m worried too. I have literally put my entire life into learning art just so I can hopefully make enough money to sustain my future family one day and I too am worried that I would have to ditch all of those long hours and go work at some other in need job that may even be replaced in the near future.

By humanizing AI to make it seem friendly, especially the usage of a child, they make AI seem child like, and innocent, in addition the plain folk technique of propaganda is also used. This makes the message not nessecarily "AI is good humans bad" but instead makes it "AI is just like us., and is mostly innocent just like us and our children." underwhelmingly this issue reminds me of something a friend of mine once said "we are living in the most boring version of dystopia/cyberpunk" there are no great ai revolutions, corporate wars to fight head on with explosions and grit, no great struggle in the light just outside courtrooms to revive justice or secure workers rights. there is just a slow, necrotic fissure slowly growing in society from an apathetic progress. art being replaced by artificial work and worth in work becoming artificial, when really that should be completely backwards. it defies logic that we would create technology that imitates art rather than by replacing dangerous work in industry. but it feels like we are writing ourselves out of the narrative without any kind of meaning or foresight.

Lessons from the terminator? It’s literally a work of fiction. Ai can be amazing when used responsibly. You can make a movie making anything seem scary. For example imagine a movie about a world that goes full anarchy because people use cars as weapons to ram into each other and then suddenly everyone in real life is scared of cars and don’t want to use them. It’s just mass hysteria based on a work of fiction that isn’t even real

I like the idea of smart robots, it has always been a interesting topic to me, but I also know the "good robot" outcome normally appears because the ones making the bots do it for the love of the science and trying to benefit humanity... The "bad robot" scenario normally comes when it is being made for purely corporate or militaristic reasons... kind of like how the bots are now :\

I love all your channels, but the one that really made a big first impression was game theory. It was really what got me into game theorizing during my highschool years, and I discovered games through you and other channels like Markiplier and Jackscepticeye I would have never found or tried otherwise, like Fnaf and Undertale (I always had a softspot for the Undertale theories lol), and I love how you never said concretely "This is how it works" but rather "This is how it Could work" and let everyone come to their own conclusions, their own theories, and I guess that's what being a theorist is all about, finding your own answers. I remember seeing your goodbye announcement video at work and I tried so hard not to cry. It's never easy to say goodbye, but I'm theorizing (and hoping) this isn't a goodbye, just a goodbye till next time. The internet won't be the same without you, but hey, that's just a theory, A GAME, FILM, FOOD, AND STYLE THEORY!
