Apparently a director of the movies said that Minions can't biologically reproduce, either by splitting apart like amoeba or sexually. I think this could explain the retcon about Minions being created by Gru. Instead of making them from scratch like it was implied in the first movie he simply started cloning them around the time he was an adult explaining the blueprints for a Minion in the background of the first Despicable Me movie.

Gru is the most powerful being in the universe, and here's why: according to the height of a Minion (which is 3.5 feet on average) Gru is 4 minions tall, which means he is a godly size of 14 feet tall. Second if any of you remember the original Despicable Me, you Know there is a scene when Vector kidnaps the three girls and shoots a series of heat-seeking misses at Gru, he then dodge them all. According to the speed of an average ballistic missile (1900 mph) and the size of the missile according to his ankle size, Gru can perceive and move at such a speed that the missiles only move 9.5 miles per hour, 0.5% of their original speed. Plus after this Gru punches a shark and it is paralyzed meaning its spine is probably shattered, to remind you it would require a force greater than 3,000 newtons to fracture the spine. That's equal to the impact created by a 500-pound car crashing into a wall at 30 miles per hour. I rest my case.

Film Theory Idea: How did the animals in Zootopia evolve and thrive in the society they live in? Because carnivores, such as lions and tigers, must have to eat other things instead of meat and how would it effect them. Since they might have evolved separate to eukaryotes, they might not even have telomeres. Procaryotes like bacteria often have ring shaped DNA, thus they don't need telomeres. In the Intro of the Minions it isn't clearly shown if they have circular, chromosomal or some other kind of DNA, but it definitely is a possibility. A circular DNA would also explain why they don't age, and would make it easier for Gru to clone them and for El Macho to mutate them

Hey MatPat, I have a very special request for a Film Theory. I feel like now is more appropriate than ever. In case you weren't aware, around this time 2 years ago, Denise Nickerson (Violet Beauregarde from Willy Wonka) sadly passed away after multiple health complications. In her honor, I would like to see you tackle the science of Wonka's Three course meal chewing gum, and I mean all aspects, including how it can change its flavor over time, how it can mimic the satisfaction of a three course dinner, leading up to, of course, what goes wrong that turns the victim into a blueberry. You can also maybe go into some nutritional facts like with the Marshmallow Man theory, or HOW the victim is supposed to be juiced, but let's not make it gross! With the 50th anniversary of the movie just passed, I believe this would be a perfect way to celebrate and pay tribute to such a beloved actress!

I would say isolating them from a villain too. It would be a much slower process, since in the minions movie it takes a few centuries, but when they're in the ice cave with no villain, they start to give up on life. Plus, it even states that if they didn't have a villain they would PERISH. Perish is a key word because that means ☠

according to the height of a Minion (which is 3.5 feet on average) Gru is 4 minions tall, which means he is a godly size of 14 feet tall. That's equal to the impact created by a 500-pound car crashing into a wall at 30 miles per hour.😵🥲

First of all: Where's the Phineas&Ferb reference for the aglet? Secondly, if we allow a death by failing DNA and enzymes, heating is the easiest thing to do. Capture them and keep them in a persisting fever or heating bath (i.e. lava) and the denaturation of their enzymes (as well as their DNA) will do the rest.

I think maybe requiring a specific telomerase-blocker for the injection might be a bit more complex than necessary. Sure, *external* radiation just kaijus them, but get a gamma emitter in close contact with their DNA and that ought to do enough of a job messing them up. If their DNA itself were resistant to radiation, then it would probably be just as resistant to the mutagen they were injected with, so I think their radiation resistance is only skin-deep. It can't get *into* them, but if we were to bypass that that ought to be enough.
