Billionaire. Playboy. Philanthropist. CRIMINAL?! Wait, what? Okay maybe it’s obvious that Tony Stark hasn’t had the “best” business practices. But what you may not know is that war profiteering is not the worst of his crimes. In fact, he should probably be facing LIFE in prison! But to see his full sentence, you’ll have to watch this episode.

@@hanneswiggenhorn2023 agreed. I kinda used the watchmen as a way to describe The Boys to others to help articulate that element of "what happens when they're not being super heroes" aspect. This is exactly what I was thinking when the video started. Superheroes are pretty much breaking laws by being superheroes. However, in the MCU, some of them are covered in at least some of their acts by being government sanctioned. Captain America, Falcon, and Hawkeye all started that way, though they wound up going rogue in Civil War. War Machine has always operated under government authorization. The Sokovia Accords temporarily brought all those that agreed to it under legal operation, which applied to both Iron Man and Spider-Man.

Realistically the most likely reason Tony isn't charged with any crimes is because of Nick Fury. SHIELD has a lot of sway in the MCU and seems to operate on their own terms in many cases. Fury's contact with Tony at the end of the first movie was probably not only enough to get him as an agent of SHIELD but also make sure any crimes he committed were considered justifiable under the conditions they were in.

The court itself kept quiet and didn't have an answer. When Peter messed up in the ship wreck. See the way how Tony taught him be more responsible. While the other Avengers gave their life to save people. Tony not only made the Avengers win the war but also sacrificed his life for it. If Tony wanted he could have sit happily and enjoyed his wealth for lifetime. The amount of wealth he has could also support 2 generations after Tony without doing anything. That is his greatness inspite if having everything he cared for others as well

I actually think the iconic line "I am Iron-man" is his real life legal loophole for keeping his suits privatized. he is identifying himself as the iron-man and making no seperation legally between himself and his suits, an individual can not be legally considered a weapon because that would involve legally labeling them as property, and so by claiming that he is iron-man and therefor the suits are an extension of himself he is creating a legal loophole to prevent the government from seizing anything.

Not to mention that when Tony did take the suit back and discouraged Peter from Spiderman-ing, Peter still went out and did it anyway without the protective suit, using his previous Spiderman "onesie". And on top of that, we already see that May is ok with him going over county borders to "Spiderman" because in Far From Home, SHE packs the suit even when Peter didn't have any intentions to use it. Tony gave Peter an out multiple times, but Peter never took it and was going to get involved with or without Tony's permission. RDJ improvising "I am Iron Man" was one of the best moves in the MCU. Just imagining the series where its him doubling back constantly and trying to portray Tony Stark and Iron Man separately like a secret identity would have likely ended up a weird bungled mess. Especially considering how he was one of the few people in the world at the time with the means, money, and knowhow to do it, and in the right circumstance. I cant imagine him trying to constantly play that off.

So long as he kept Stark's name on the list of members (or even potential members) it probably blocked most government agencies from pursuing action against him. This was followed up after S.H.I.E.L.D collapsed by the "Sokovia Accords" and Stark being one of the initial signatories of that legislation.

And going by his actions in Civil War, pretty much all of the legal ramifications of his actions were suspended so long as Tony acted as a lapdog for General Ross and the group in charge of enforcing the Sokovia Accords. One possible reason why Iron Man doesn't get arrested could be the existence of previous human weapons in the MCU's history. The referenced laws might have been a little different in a world where Captain America is a widely known historical figure and many governments were secretly running other superhumans (Ant Man, Winter Soldier, Red Guardian, Isaiah Bradley, et al.) under the table.

DC has made reference to a similar concept in their comics. The one that always stuck out to me is the fact that superheroes can testify in court without giving away their secret identity by claiming fifth amendment protection in regards to said identity.

Another reason they never went for him too hard as he was the only one that could produce and maintain the product. think about it. if ultron doesnt come, banner never faces off during thanos andgets transported back to earth by heimdal. If that doesnt happen, thanos goes to earth with no one even knowing he entered or how to potentially stop him. Ultron was right to want to make the earth metal because since metal doesnt live, they cannot be wiped out by the snap, and no matter what thanos did earth could technically still prosper with everyone still there.

The fact he was going to commit crimes inside makes his entry to Mandarin's compound burglary literally anywhere. But he'd never be arrested because he is a billionaire. We don't even arrest fake billionaires, and it has cost them less than $50k per state to stop all prosecutions in that state (literally just paying off the prosecutors).

Well, think about it for a moment. Tony might sacrifice himself for the humanity but if he is really pushed by the government to absolute insanity, he might simply just destroy the government. Think about just how many arms and missile he has. Tony is a hero but in many of the other parallel universe, he is also a villain. So, I am pretty sure Shield made sure that Tony wouldn’t be punished for these things because they need him and his technology.

Thanos' disintegration of half the people in the universe was random. Ergo, Spider-Man wasn't put in any more danger from it by being there to fight Thanos directly. Moreover, Iron Man actually tried to keep Spidey *out* of that fight, but Spidey tagged along anyway.

Aunt May did know that Peter was on some sort of scholarship program with Stark Industries so she may have given consent to go on certain field trips for that… so even though she definitely didn’t know all the details involving what he’d be doing on those trips I think she probably did give his permission to go on them thinking he was probably attending a science fair or something…

@@spewter a lie of omission perhaps. She might not have asked what they’d be doing and even if she did Stark could’ve used politician/lawyer talk to tell her the truth but in a way that made us sound more benign.
