The only death I felt bad for was Spider-Man. Why? Because his spider senses told/warned him. That he was dying, “I don’t feel so good”. An internet meme yes, but its also a hugely sad line. He feels pain while he’s dying because his mind is warning him.
@senatorarmstrong89603 жыл бұрын
@Darth Dämon I mean yea I don’t like Iron boy. But earlier in the film Thanos mentions how the snap is meant to be quick and painless. But for Peter its not quick or painless, the reason Peter took longer to disappear. Was because his body was trying to heal itself while being damaged. Plus as Stated the Spidey Sense, warned him of what was happening. So the entire time he was put into a state of panic.
@senatorarmstrong89603 жыл бұрын
@Darth Dämon He begins studdering, you can hear in his voice he’s on the verge of tears. And when he gets taken to the ground we can see him shaking, and the area around his eyes are red. I think a big thing to consider would be Thanos’ elimination of the dwarves (minus Dinklage). In that moment I would argue he strayed from his goal of “half the population without prejudice” and pursued violence instead. Thoughts?
@sonnynoux36032 жыл бұрын
Well the dwarves are definitely a threat to him and his goals. In his mind they would be nothing more than a drop spilled to save half the universe. They are technically an obstacle to his success just like the Avengers so killing them was probably selfless in intention.

Matt talks about the present Thanos in his theory, or at least that’s what I get from it. Surely past Thanos wouldn’t have been close to being worthy since that Thanos was more of a violent Thanos but the present Thanos was more pacific and only did violence to fulfill his ultimate goal which, in his own twisted world, was for the balance of the universe.

Thanos is evil. He takes the Asgardians, who’ve already had their population reduced to 1/4, and HAND-SLAUGHTERS (there was a child there, a child’s teddy bear. And Thanos had no stones then, he executed these people) THEM. BABIES. CHILDREN. MOTHERS. DOESN’T MATTER. The Asgardians were reduced from a PLANET to a VILLAGE size, killing half of them was both cruel and purely for the sadism. He lies about his “50%” thing anyway, because in GOTG we see that Gamora is THE LAST OF HER SPECIES. He “wiped out” Xandar. He killed all but Eitri on Nidavellir. Not 50%. The forge had 300 dwarves according to Eitri. Now he is all that is left. He kidnaps and MUTILATES children. NEBULA HAD TO HAVE BEEN IN HER TEENS AT MOST WHEN HE BEGAN MUTILATING HER. His goal isn’t noble, he lies to make himself look better. If he actually only did the snap, you’d be right. But he didn’t. He kills who he wants. He doesn’t care. But he SAYS it’s all under this noble goal because he’s a narcissist and a sociopath who kidnaps and tortures kids. Hell, doing the math roughly, Loki is around a teen/college age. And he tortured him too. Thanos doesn’t think his goal is noble, he lies to make himself the martyr. You are COMPLETELY correct.

I agree to everything, but Stormbreaker can be wielded by anyone, because it's not enchanted. Mjolnir HAS the power of Thor, so this is why someone that wields it can summon lightning. But Stormbreaker does not HAVE the power of Thor, that's why it's more powerful(besides being an axe), it's because Thor channels his own power into the weapon.
@archiebeach91535 жыл бұрын
Rickie HCA well I mean not quite. To put it simply: Mjolnir was like a set of training wheels for Thor. Thor’s powers were tied to the hammer, so whilst he could use his powers without it, he also could channel his powers through the hammer. Stormbreaker, on the other hand, is like hooking up a gas engine. Thor’s powers are amplified by Stormbreaker. Saying that Stormbreaker not having the power of Thor being why it’s *stronger* is completely wrong. Stormbreaker is still stronger though, just not at all for the reasons you suggested.

I'd like to think Thanos _was_ worthy to weild Mjolnir... for a while at least. That is, until it became personal. The first time, he was indifferent, but in Endgame when he comes back through the use of time travel he says how much he's going to enjoy killing them because now he's actually mad. I do believe they also have him specifically avoid trying to grab Mjolnir in the animation of the fight scenes... but maybe I'm just remembering wrong (I'd also like to note that Stormbreaker doesn't have the same enchantment that Mjolnir has, though it must have something slightly similar, given the scene where cap catches it).

Banner replies with “so you’re saying that hul... that guy saved me?” .....” Saved me for what”. That was what he was referencing because the radiation coming off the gauntlet was mostly gamma. In that moment he finally made a realization that answered a question that he had been asking ever since he became the hulk. He wasn’t necessarily thinking “oh it’s ok I won’t die I’ll be fine” he was thinking “it’s better if I do be better I’ll be the least damaged compared to any of them if they were to use it instead and if I do it then they can still keep up the fight” so that’s what I say mattpatt to your “banner doing it solely because he thinks he’s not gonna die”

You failed to take into account the possibility that Odin may not see _himself_ as worthy due to his warmongering past. He is never shown lifting the hammer after the enchantment is placed, only before. The thought behind this is that he wanted to make Thor a "better" king than he was. Just a thought.
