Groot is definitely worthy by these criteria, he sacrificed himself in the first guardians of the Galaxy movie and sacrificed his arm for Stormbreaker. And he is obviously not seeking violence.
@realMG420
@realMG420 5 жыл бұрын
That's a good point. But it's important to point out the the Groot we saw in Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2, Infinity War, and Endgame isn't the same Groot from the first Guardians movie. The first Groot died permanently, and the new one is his son.
@ujoupe3041
@ujoupe3041 5 жыл бұрын
@@realMG420 Yes, thanks for pointing that out. But also in GOTG volume 2 he risks his life to place the bomb on Ego's core, and in infinity war we see him lift Stormbreaker while giving it a new handle.

I think a big thing to consider would be Thanos’ elimination of the dwarves (minus Dinklage). In that moment I would argue he strayed from his goal of “half the population without prejudice” and pursued violence instead. Thoughts?
@sonnynoux3603

Well the dwarves are definitely a threat to him and his goals. In his mind they would be nothing more than a drop spilled to save half the universe. They are technically an obstacle to his success just like the Avengers so killing them was probably selfless in intention.

Variocom I think he actually just hadn’t reached that point yet... having to choose to give up what he loved most made him understand what kind of resolve was needed for his goal, and it was then that he might’ve decided his own life wasn’t too high a price to pay to save half the universe. The only death I felt bad for was Spider-Man. Why? Because his spider senses told/warned him. That he was dying, “I don’t feel so good”. An internet meme yes, but its also a hugely sad line. He feels pain while he’s dying because his mind is warning him.

@Darth Dämon I mean yea I don’t like Iron boy. But earlier in the film Thanos mentions how the snap is meant to be quick and painless. But for Peter its not quick or painless, the reason Peter took longer to disappear. Was because his body was trying to heal itself while being damaged. Plus as Stated the Spidey Sense, warned him of what was happening. So the entire time he was put into a state of panic.

Ya, but he can still be revived via Time Travel - No body dies and stays dead as long as you have some Time Travel tech laying around. For goodness sake, one of the Doctor's companions is actually DEAD but her dying is stopped suspended by the power of her TARDIS - she can't die and won't age either. :-) For the infinity glove, the time stone can do the time travel bit - in fact, the time stone can not be destroyed as long as it exists at some point in time, that particular stone can never be destroyed.

However; Thor did say you needed massive amounts strength to wield Stormbreaker or otherwise “your bodies would crumble and fall”, and seeing as how Thanos wielded the Infinity Gauntlet, it’s not that hard to believe he had the strength to wield Stormbreaker as well. MegaMementoMori Being the most hated man in the entire world and all through human history could be considered self sacrifice. Had he won it might be a different story. @@thebalder9634 He risked his position for more power and there is no indication that he would stop killing and enslaving non-Germans after securing "living space" for his dear "master race". Quite the contrary, he wanted to wipe out all cultures he did not like. Thanos on the other hand wanted to retire after fixing the universe for everybody still alive. Sure, he was mad and his idea was terrible, but didn't want to eradicate opposition but to do something good. And we should still try to stop murderers, but it's not a slippery slope to judge their character by their intentions not only by their actions.

I agree to everything, but Stormbreaker can be wielded by anyone, because it's not enchanted. Mjolnir HAS the power of Thor, so this is why someone that wields it can summon lightning. But Stormbreaker does not HAVE the power of Thor, that's why it's more powerful(besides being an axe), it's because Thor channels his own power into the weapon.
@archiebeach9153
@archiebeach9153 5 жыл бұрын
Rickie HCA well I mean not quite. To put it simply: Mjolnir was like a set of training wheels for Thor. Thor’s powers were tied to the hammer, so whilst he could use his powers without it, he also could channel his powers through the hammer. Stormbreaker, on the other hand, is like hooking up a gas engine. Thor’s powers are amplified by Stormbreaker. Saying that Stormbreaker not having the power of Thor being why it’s *stronger* is completely wrong. Stormbreaker is still stronger though, just not at all for the reasons you suggested.
