The actual directors said in interviews they want the movie to be more realistic in more ways then one. This is also supposedly why Simba's dad doesn't care for him as much, because (Directors quote, not mine) it would be more realistic. These guys have no idea what realism is.

Mufasa and Scar probably had a strong bond in their earlier days, with Scar being the dominant one who was destined for greatness. However, Scar injured during a hunt as a result of a mistake or reckless behaviour from Mufasa which inhibited his ability to fight and be the rightful king.

Not really he did want mufasa to die in that hunt but the buffalo(forgot what animal) turned on scar and attacked him instead, and because of how ashamed his dad was at him at the time he changed his name from taka(literally means trash in Swahili) to scar so the shame can follow him for the remainder of his life

When I saw the live action, disappointment doesn't even describe how I felt. Scar is and has always been my favorite villian. I loved his design as an animation, and his songs were a vibe. There are 2 ways Mufasas death could’ve been avoided (there are more I know) 1. Simba could’ve hidden in one of the rock crevices that the stampede jump over 2. Mufasa could’ve just cling onto the edge and waited for the stampede to pass

There's actually another way this could have gone down; the movie just never happens. I mean, we could have followed Simba after he gets kicked out and see him form a coalition and then take over a new pride (ok actually that would be a reallly cool movie) but Scar might have just never challenged Mufasa. There are cases of up to three male lions ruling a pride simultaineously with shared power, and that could have happened here. Mufasa and Scar rule equally, kick out Simba, the Pride Lands never dissolve, and SImba probably goes and takes over Zira's pride or something.

Also worth mentioning is that Pride Rock wouldn't be devoid of vegetation like it shows in the movie. Without herbivores for the lions to feed on the foliage would have grown exponentially larger. Predators often go hunting in areas where the plant life has diminished due to overfeeding by prey animals.

In the very beginning of the movie, I knew right then and there I didn't like Mufasa even as a kid. Mufasa I thought was too authoritarian. "He's my son which is your future king". So WHAT if Scar didn't want to attend the ceremony. Simba ended up being a spoiled little brat anyways. I think Scar to me is a hero for taking care of a corrupt politician.

Unless Zera only made him believe that because if Kovu who looked most like him wasn't his then chances are the other two weren't his either, and since the second movie is canon you can also add that Scar DID have his own pride but he abandoned them to scavenge off his brothers kills and that in most prides of lions in south africa there are usually 2 males in the pride because one male can't defend his turf on his own so both he and Mufasa were actually kings(the ladies just hated Scar because he already abandoned his previous family go figure)so Scar figured if he was the only male he could force their change of mind. Chances are Kovu would have ended up the king of pride rock because he couldn't boink Vitani could he? Or could he...xD (Nala any thoughts?)

He literally said, he is the second born, that Mufasa is his older brother. I saw it. He definitely says it in the English version. In the scene where Mufasa confronts him with the fact that he wasn't there when Simba was introduced. No, he wasn't right. If that would follow the rules of the wilderness, Scar most probably would have left the pride several years ago - because lion prides only have one adult male and Mufasa would definitely win in a real lion fight. So also Simba would need to fight him to become the next king - inheritences aren't a thing with lions. Mufasa was always the righteous king and Simba was King after fighting and winning against Scar - but Scar never was the real king, he never had a real fight with Mufasa.
