The names of the royal guards are a mix of Egyptian mythology and characters from a French children's book -- Montu, Shai, and Nereftum are Egyptian gods and Youpi, Pouf, and Pitou are a dog, a cat, and a panther in Caroline and Her Friends. Oh, and Dr. Blythe gets its name and design from the Blythe doll.

Shaiapouf is truly one of the most memorable characters in fictions for me, and for lots of fans. He is an impeccable creation, a mythological creature from Greek epic poems. Full of acute perceptiveness and delicacy of emotions. But so is Youpi and Meruem. Pitou is more playful energy and mischief, and Pouf is just wicked in general. Youpi is, well, Youpi. After reading 20 times my love for them grow steadily. every scene with Pouf is a psychedelic experience.

the way how they show Kite's body seems to be censorship. In the manga we clearly see that right arm and head are separate from the rest
