Because it was human. It was played by a human actor. It’s more difficult for a human to play a machine than a human to play a human. Like Arnold in the first terminator.

@Winter Wren If they bothered to make Legion even more diverse than Skynet they could have implemented the idea that the Rev units were sentient and willingly chose to hunt down humanity. Instead of being a central super intelligence controlling drones, Legion is the hivemind of all Rev units who are united with a common goal, hence why the name Legion.

For real. The chrome is obviously old school, but that matte black is really, really cool, even as far as "tacticool"/ badass levels. And the whole skeleton design looks creepy, with the hollow chest, thick spine, hollow skull. Really nice, pleasant to eye, good looking, menacing, slick and durable looking at the same time, modern design.

I just want to quickly point out that the reason the security guards didn't shoot the terminator in the holding facility was purely because they couldn't. Remember back to when the terminator turned in its firearm to enter the facility? We can reasonably assume that all staff must turn in their weapons prior to entry, meaning none of the officers have firearms to counter the terminator. This is a threat that they've never encountered before and had no idea how to counter it. They gain tunnel vision and approach the situation the same way they do with any threat, which is to try to take it down which ends up looking like hugging.

@@jamesbondo5895 I'm not knowledgeable on how border patrol works per se, but I am ex-military and can say there are areas where weapons aren't allowed. In a building like that, I imagine there are plenty of armed guards outside and at the entrance, but everyone is screened before they come in, so if anyone's a threat on the inside, they're likely unarmed. The Terminator was also "unarmed" except they didn't know he could turn his body into weapons.

@Frank Brockman Still a better way than continuing the story that has now failed 3 whole times. And even then it still has the characters that everyone loves in it, oh wait that's now a 4th time. This franchise has a few choices: Just reboot with new characters and a new story; Just do the future war; or continue the franchise in other mediums and stop making movies. As we've seen you can't continue the story from the first 2 movies as it negates the whole ending and message of that movie.

This really feels like the more logical progression instead of the T-X. I know the T-X was supposed to solve the issues of the T-1000 since it would deform easily under fire and take longer to recover, so having an endoskeleton underneath would solve these issues. However as mentioned in the T-X video this sacrificed its flexibility and versatility since the alloy was really only used for infiltration purposes. With the Rev-9’s ability to separate the two entities it can still take full advantage of the T-1000 flexibility while solving the durability issues. And besides some situations don’t require the immense strength of a terminator, so having them split into two weaker entities still overall has more benefits.

Cracking open the Bible, Rev 9 (revelations 9) refers to the demon insects that attacked humans that didn’t have the mark of god on their forehead during the end times. Their sting is supposed to be agonizingly painful but ultimately not fatal as death was suspended during that time. Poor fit IMO, ironically the name legion would be the more appropriate label given its separating ability. Then again I’m assuming the same biblical reference motif that James Cameron does throughout his alien franchise is what they’re doing here.

The main difference between the Rev-9 and the T-3000 is that the T-3000 is John Connor himself. That's why he still had human traits and emotion. His body was experimented on by Skynet (Genesis) and Given the most advanced cybernetics that Skynet had to offer (technology that was not given to mass produced models). By this time Skynet (Or Genesis) had become self aware and showed John their own vision of the future which is why he tried to get his mother Sarah to join him. Rev-9 on the other hand is an advanced manufactured model by Skynet (Now called Legion) that is completely non-human but so advanced that it learned human behavior and able to mimic emotion and possible self awareness. The metal endoskeleton is also stronger, agile, and more durable and a T-800 and it's liquid metal form is also more advanced than a T-1000. John Connor was not a Terminator but given advanced technology to that of a Terminator. This makes the Rev-9 the most powerful and most dangerous Terminator ever created by Skynet (Legion).

Just watched it last night and was pretty good. What’s strange is that now two alternate timelines merged on “our Sarah Conor” timeline. Neither the Rev 9 nor T800 knew of each other’s designed. Arnold’s character made it clear to all of what happened. Though Sarah stopped skynet, it didn’t stopped the inevitable. It’s just written in the stars that man will create its own death. Great movie

Remember, Cyberdyne Industries was jump-started by their acquisition of terminator parts. Once that got taken away the timeline simply reverted. Someone, somewhere came up with the original AI that became Skynet. Perhaps the timeline was messed up enough that their work was delayed and eventually got named "Legion" instead.

Of all the Terminators that appeared after T2 the Rev 9 is by far the best. He is fast, flexible, very responsive and resistant and is able to imitate human emotions, which makes him a very good infiltrator. Moreover, he is more determined and tenacious than the last three protagonists of the films (TX, T-rip, T-3000). Otherwise, he had more victims than these three.

one thing i loved about this movie is how three separate heroes from different origins came together to fight the new terminator. You've got the human who gains her skills from years of experience, the augmented human from a new future who gains her skills from her augmentations, and the robot from an old future now undone. None of them have the same origins or abilities, yet they're all getting together to face a common threat. Really like that in a story.

It is a terminator. Even the soldiers from 2042 called them terminators as well. Instead of putting a "T" behind a number, they added "REV". "legion" and "Rev" is a reference to bible. Rev meaning revelation. The ending of bible. The coming of the devil. Which is why the rev7 looks so horrifying with its tentacles looking demonic.

I like how creative they’ve gotten with the terminator versions from the stunted and very “robotic” T 800. To the more deadly and creative T 1000 with its memetic poly alloy. And the TX having a mix of both with in built weapons. The T 3000 being similar to the 1000 but more. And my personal favourite the Rev 9 which is basically two terminators for the price of one. If they do a 7th film I really want to see what they come up with. Maybe a terminator like the Rev 9 but more like the TX with unbuilt weapons?
