You can thank Black Rock and Vanguard for that. ESG is why all Hollywood movies these days follow the same script. Most people hate the fake Woke culture but they keep pushing more of it. It doesn't help that Hollywood also keeps doubling down on sequels and endless Marvel fantasy films that are all basically the same kind of movie shown over and over again with a slightly different twist on the same generic themes they just keep recycling.

I think people are starting to wonder what happened to men in the 21th century, why they have no balls and are all beta males or stereotypical toxic males. The answer is obvious it's ESGs. Vanguard and Black Rock push these kinds of themes which is why it always comes across as forced and political and fake because it is. I love strong female characters but it's hard to have good ones when your getting pressure from ESGs to push a political agenda no one wants. When Ripley took out the Alien Qween and everyone cheered her it was because it was a real female bad ass character that wasn't put there to score political points. People like Mulan for similar reasons and then you have the live action version that everyone hated because again they basically turned all the male characters into beta males and made the female lead over powered and forgot they had a story to tell. That's why I rarely ever go to the movies and don't buy, rent or watch 99 percent of anything that comes out because it's just not worth my time. Sorry Black Rock but I won't buy anything that was made just to check diversity and inclusivity. The worst part about it is I would love to see more minorities in film and I want strong female characters to have lead roles but it has to be well written and not put there just to make Black Rock and Vanguard happy. The Irony is Hollywood is super racist. Look how few roles went to Asian men and women for the last 50 years. That only started changing because China bought a bunch of Hollywood studios. Unfortunately another decade of forced inclusion and diversity will ensure that minorities and women are only known for staring in mindless action fantasy films where they are Over Powered and domineering and that will turn off most men who see their Hollywood representations emasculated and subservient or openly sexists and nothing more then a scripted insult to half the human race. I actually feel bad for women and minorities because of this ESG crap, because they will get type cast as playing the politically correct hero who everyone is expected to root for when in reality many viewers will just hate them when it's not their fault it's Hollywood and then when they finally get a role written by someone who actually wants to just tell a great story and not check gender and race boxes nobody will take them seriously and talk trash about them because everyone now hates the fake culture and can no longer recognize a good movie or a good character anymore. In essence Hollywood's forced crusade to beat everyone over the head with political correctness and Woke culture will only serve to make people more racist and critical of women and minorities and a lot of actresses and actors will never be appreciated again when they do good work. I just think of Prey which was a great movie that had a strong female lead and was very inclusive but was also really well written. I love it but a lot of people bombed the comment sections attacking it for being Woke. That's the problem with this ESG culture now even good stuff will get trashed by most people because now we just expect if a movie has minorities and a lead female character it must be preaching to you and trying to get you to sign on to a political idea you don't want and aren't interested in and so you just reject it out of hand. That's why no one watches movies anymore and when they do they never have anything good to say.

I only watch a Disney Film if it's a Director who I trust otherwise I assume it will be governed by ESG boards who are only focused on checking boxes and don't care about the plot or the characters so everything is hollow or they just recycle old themes over and over again like the 20th Marvel Avengers movie or another Godzilla movie or another Mad Max replaced by some ugly women who's name escapes me and I don't care because it's just about CGI and excessive violence. I'll watch Planet of the Apes. I liked that series. I'm skipping the rest and will probably never watch them.

Big budget sci-fi has been popular since Star Wars in 1977 but the genre really took off in popularity when advancements in cgi made for realistic special effects in the 90s. I’m one of these sci-fi loving nerds who can’t get enough of these movies (and tv shows.)

Apparently they went extinct. I guess they are the new Asian type cast. Remember all those years racist Hollywood said they support minorities and women and then every time there was a story that had an Asian female character they just gave the role to a white women instead. They also gave few roles to Asian men while they claimed to be progressive and inclusive. Now racist Hollywood just gives us token representation where minorities get important roles but their characters are generic and no one remembers them afterwards and they give every lead role to women, usually white and men, especially white men get type cast as being bad guys or racists or sexists who need to be put in their place. or eliminated like in Civil War where all the white characters are racists and get taken out by minorities. Hollywood will always be racist they just change the race and gender they discriminate against and give meaningless roles to everyone else and call it celebrating diversity when all they really are doing is taking the ESG money and promoting Woke Culture and afterword they throw in a generic story some drop out pot head Gen Zer came up with over the weekend.

@@Nine-Signs Made by a Frenchmen who's known for making Scifi movies. I love the director by the way and Dune and think the movies are fantastic! But people who make real Science Fiction tend to make films without this focus on Wokeisim. They just want to make good sci fi and so they write great stories. That's why it's good. Sometimes they cast whites. Christopher Nolan chose a Black man in Tenant and Ridley Scott and James Cameron had their main character be a woman and those films were great. They made their movies to tell a story not to say Hey we got a black guy as the lead role, cheer for him or hey we got a woman to fight the Aliens, You've come a long way baby, Female Empowerment! Now that's how you promote women and minorities by NOT promoting them. Just focus on the story and the characters and then pick good actors and actresses many of whom happen to be women and minorities and you entertain while promoting diversity!

Starting to notice a trend these past few years. less than 25% of these movies had straight men as the lead. DEI is certainly having an affect of the movie industry, in a bad way. I hope they are learning that politics can be added in movies without destroying the story/movie, but I dont have I hopes for that to happen for a long while if at all.

I am a huge fan of sci-fi, but after checking those trailers I am totally disappointed. Especially for Hollywood. No imagination, no creativity, no inspiration. Only stupid remakes, involving dystopian worlds, full of destruction, ugly primitive aliens, lots of fighting, futuristic machine guns, fear-promoting scenarios, and bad taste soundtracks...
