I hope the Jeep owner gets to see this video. The pickup truck was attempting to go around a stopped vehicle and had no blinkers to indicate, and as he moved inches into the next lane the Jeep whacked his mirror causing Jeep to further move left into the vehicle to the left and in front of him. The pickup truck guy kept waving his hands to suggest the Jeep was at fault when the opposite was true; and after the pickup truck got hit he moved his truck back into his lane like he was innocent. In my court: Pickup truck should be hanged at the site.

There is no way a whole community could act like this. Check the water, there must be a crack and the city sewer is leaking into the water service mains. Very dysfunctional. A school bus always has multiple fire extinguishers on it. Always. People standing around should know those businesses are required to have fire ext. A couple people spraying early and you're done. Cars scurrying through the parking lot to get past. Shut it down. The guy spraying the fire ext didn't have his head far enough into the engine compartment. Maybe they need a fire station on that side of town also. Finish your coffee then call the fire dept. Just stop in the middle of the road next to the fire truck so you can get a good view and ask them what happened. Wow! I can't believe it took someone in the building FOUR MINUTES to grab a fire extinguisher. This happened just down the street from where I live, and I don't recall hearing about this particular bus fire on the news. I do know that these 1995 and '96 buses have been replaced over the last year due to this very problem. There was a major design flaw in these buses that prevented sufficient engine ventilation, and led to the engines overheating. The weird part is that these were replaced before the 1988 and 1990 Blue Bird International buses, which are still going strong.

The impact with the white Ford has either punctured the Jeep's left front tyre, pulled the steering out of the driver's hands or broken the front suspension or steering. If the utility truck hadn't been there it might well have ended up in oncoming traffic or the side of the fire truck. That could have been a hell of a lot worse. First thing that I have a question on is buses are supposed to be equipped with fire extinguishers correct? Second thing is you have all these businesses that are directly behind the bus that is in their parking lot which looks fairly small. They should all have fire extinguishers to and I would rather use the fire extinguisher meant for the business and replace that and at least try to slow down this bus fire so my business didn't get damaged just in case it got to the diesel and we had bigger issue. Also as a customer if I saw this I would be getting my vehicle and moving because that parking lot needs to be cleared. Just some simple observations right off the bat. And no the fire extinguishers may not have put out the fire before anybody says something however it may have slowed it down a little bit till the fire department could get there and get it taken care of.

School busses are equipped with fire extinguishers. Why doesn't the driver use it? And what's with the horn? Is it honking out Moorse Code? Move along folks. No rubber necking or you will end up like those blokes.

The Jeep impacted the F150 (because he turned into him) with its left front wheel and immediately snapped the steering full lock left, leading to the 2nd impact with the service truck ahead! All while a bus is burning in the background, quite an eventful video!

The cause of the accident is partially at least the idiot in the big white truck likely paid to be working but going to look at fires instead. If he was not stopped the other drivers wouldn’t of had the crash. Nothing in front of the truck just randomly stops

Where I live the guy in the first white truck that blocked the lane of traffic for NO reason and did not have is hazard light on , would have got a ticket for impeding the flow of traffic, making the accident HIS fault.

I believe the driver wanted to turn left to Market Square, but the fire truck has blocked the entrance. I wonder why he didn't find a place to park and wait.

The firies did a good job. They took less than ten minutes to respond. They then had water on in less than a minute. I am one in Australia. The only rule we have is that you cannot get on the truck unless you have all your PPE gear on. That goes for the fulltimers as well as the rural volunteer brigades. We see this all the time...rubber neckers.

Given that the Utility truck had just entered the center lane and crept forward, it is easy to surmise that he needed to get into the shopping area... why would you say "for no reason" is it even possible to read the minds of those in a video............

@@marvinisit "for no reason" is because if you watch the video again you will see that where he stopped there is NO entrance to the shopping center. The fire truck is completely blocking the entrance. If the utility truck would make a left where he was he would have to go up over the curb and sidewalk to get into the parking lot. So the utility truck had NO REASON to be stopped there.

1st truck should not have been stopped there, but 2nd truck started to turn right to go around and hit the jeep spinning it into 1st truck basically causing the accident.

so weird, i drive a school bus for a living, that horn going off was the child checker in the back of the bus, it goes off if you turn the bus off & don't go to the back of the bus to push it, if you don't, the horn goes off & stays that way. Most buses have fire extinguisher's on board, i'm surprised the driver didn't use it, but maybe it was located at the back of the bus, i don't know? some are in the front, some are in the back? i feel for the driver, it's never easy when stuff like that happens. ty for the video/p.s. why didn't someone call the fire department? thank goodness that man had some sense to use that fire extinguisher!!! the white truck behind the other one totally caused the wreck, he noticed at last minute the truck was stopped & tried to get into the other lane to pass the truck in front of him, the jeep was in his lane & didn't know the truck was pulling into his lane

On a technical side....... Not exactly sure where this incident occured. But the bus fire has a strong possibly of being equipped with a RetroFitted DPF kit. Because of C.A.R.B Compliance. Thomas school buses never had DPF filters installed after rolling out of the production line. This was before the carb emissions were enforced. There was NO thorough testing, there was no safety testing. and caused many many problems with Diesel engines that were already under some substantial mileage. DPF Filters are supposed to get hot up to 2,000 degrees while driving down the road. in order to reburn the unburned diesel and producing clear smoke instead of deep black. Its almost like a catalytic converter for a car, instead its for diesel. It was enforced to reduce smog levels in large cities. But that fact of the matter is, the Retrofit should have never been invented for older diesel engines. Specially buses. since a school and public bus are designed for stop and go traffic, picking up kids, and dropping them off. the DPF Filter never gets hot enough at the right time to reburn the unburned diesel. and just cloggs up the filter. Creating a major fire hazard. Driving a flat nose bus like that? you wouldnt know whats going on with the engine, until its too late. Yes dpf filters get up to 2,000 degrees. I have seen a charter bus melt asphalt in a matter of 2 minutes. You could leave a shoe print in it. School buses now are mainly International, and Freightliner, They have newer Cummins Engines, and Internationals own engine specifically designed for the new emission regulations and complying with Carb. and they have been dealing away with the flat nose buses and bringing back the engine up front to the driver. Since safety is priority in the commercial driving industry. If i am wrong on any of this, please chime in on it.

Firefighters in NY and LA wear shorts a lot. IF they are called in to relieve the squad already working on the fire, all they have to do is put on their protective fire pants and coats and they are ready to go. Some are even in shorts because they work the trucks and don't go into the fires. It's common place in a lot of areas, especially in the Summer when it's hot and humid.
