It always amazes me how accurate Google can be when searching a problem. I typed in a question about Canon frequency adjustment in the R5C, and up came your video explaining it clearly. Thank you.

Good primer on the NTSC/PAL idiosyncrasies of the C200. Hopefully it DOES become 2nd nature to you in the field and you don’t have trouble in your future editing. Happy shooting!!!

Was really hoping you'd address 120fps options.

Might be a noob question, but why doesn't the recording time change when you go from 23.98 to 59.94? For example, if I have 40 minutes of recording time left on my CFAST shooting in 59.94 FPS, and I switch to 23.98 FPS, I still have 40 minutes of record time left.

It should change

This presentation has confused TV over the air broadcast standards with the actual CODECs used to record the sensor data in camera.

I think you got a major point wrong Film is shot on exact 24fps not 23.98(23.976). Only video cameras, dslrs and mirrorless i.e. non-cinema cameras shoot 23.976.

How did you convert the NTSC to PAL after shooting?
@bobuk57223 жыл бұрын
Hi folks (and James if you ever come back to this after two years!). The answer is that you don't. These cameras are not recording in TV standard formats, not, NTSC, PAL, SECAM or any other TV broadcast format. They record to assorted CODECS which are a way of encoding the data. stream from the sensor. Should this data need to be broadcast over the air then the transmitter will convert it to the correct broadcast format. NTSC in the US, PAL in most of Europe and much of the World and SECAM in France and some Countries associated with France.

Why is it when I use software to check the frame rates of Hollywood big budget movies, I see their frame rate is set to 23.976???

I can't seem to get an answer to that question, not even from ppl on set. To make things more complicated, Hollywood movies have the film look of 24p but if you check their frame rate you'll still see it says 23.976. By this logic there is a pseudo 23.976 and a true 23.976

The film standard frame rate is the real 24fps, not 23,976
