This interview is interesting because you see how much more stupid Herzog is than the film he directed. Intelligence is functional to survival. The hen has to dance to eat. Herzog has to make movies to eat. If Herzog were in a cage instead of the hen, he would probably "dance", as Bruno Stroszek does in the film when criminals enter his house. There are now also many neuroscience studies showing our prejudices towards other animals and their intelligences. Kafka wrote us a very interesting short story Peter the Red. In fact, Kafka's gaze seems to have changed since he stopped eating them. Perhaps Herzog would also benefit from a food diet to deepen his eyesight.
