"Kieran lives in what he told me was called...the moment". Such an accurate way to describe Jesse's neurosis and reaction to Kieran's acting style as if it were this alien concept he just discovered.

My entire family was affected by WWII. My uncle was a Holocaust survivor and lost his mother during a Nazi raid when he was only 14. He was rescued by Irena Sendler in Warsaw. I attended the movie festival in Krakow where Jesse was promoting his directorial debut in 2023; can't forgive myself I didn't somehow share my uncle's story with him. Not only it could be useful in Real Pain, but also just keeping the memory about these events alive is so vital.

Oh my god, you are, you exist, because of Sendler! I have only three true heroes in my life. Irena Sendler, Eugeniusz Łazowski, and Jan Karski. Each one, barely known but enormous human beings.

The only thing I am very sad about is doing this from kind of self-claimed competent and knowing perspective, but completely forgetting about the fact that camps were Polish tragedy too. That so many people who were Polish non Jews were imprisoned and died there, but they are completely forgotten even by people who are more knowledgeable on the subject. And even educators in Auschwitz say at the very beginning of the visit, that first prisoners were Polish, without religion specification.

Very much agreed
@pythagorasnine8 күн бұрын
Absolutely; omitting the fact that three million Polish non-Jewish citizens were murdered by the Germans at the same time as three million of Polish Jewish citizens (plus another three million of Jews from across Europe) is every bit as shocking as Holocaust Denial. There's just no other way of looking at it. Even a brief mentioning in passing of what actually happened in Poland as a whole would have saved Eisenberg's credibility. As it is, it's just an unforgivable omission.

The fact that Jesse can have a moment like 19:04 … idk. I knew he played those characters, I even knew he could write those moments but in that moment I thought: wow. He really could be the first heir to Woody Allen both in terms of his body of work and just his own public profile early on *(sans scandals of course, one would hope). I mean that was a Mel Brooks level line, what a character 😂

He's just playing the role of the reasonable man in this company. Emma was making fun by speaking into the microphone, knowing that she was interrupting Jessie's speech. That's her sense of humor and he was there for her. A beautiful couple actually.

Omg, these guys on stage are being a disgrace, poor Jesse out there. He'd definitely like to wrap up his being visible and audible after the first 60 seconds. Introvert's worst nightmare ever, and these jerks so enjoy making it worse for him all the way.
