The funny thing is Cliff seems like a great boss and someone a lot of people would like to work for.

Same could be said for Howard and Rich too tbh. All great people. And they probably only come across like that because they have such great actors portraying them, in such a realistic and human way.

@@KingofCydonia11 Rich is another person in this series I would have no issue working for. He seems like a great boss in his profession and willing to think outside the box on some things.

This just goes to show that if you don't belong in a place, everybody seems evil to you. It's all about your mindset. I experienced this in my previous job.

I love this opening because it’s 1 or 2 eps right after seeing Chuck tell Kim about Jimmy taking money from the register and at first the flashback feels like it’ll show that Jimmy was innocent and his dad was just too generous but then we get the final complication that Jimmy *was* stealing, just maybe not as much as Chuck thought. I love how the show shows the greys, not just black and white (insert BB Grey Matter pun here)
@brettbaumler754 Жыл бұрын
The flashback shows us that while Jimmy did steal from the register, it’s likely that most of the missing money came from their father being conned all the time and just bad with money in general. And Chuck is probably smart enough to realize that, but he has such intense jealousy and spite towards Jimmy that he can’t (or won’t) see how ridiculous it is that a teenager could steal thousands of dollars by himself without their dad noticing. In any other show, Chuck would be the pure, moral voice of reason. Instead this show allows him to exist in a greyer state, he’s right about some things but often driven by his jealousy

Funny how up until this episode, every time Jimmy asks Kim "See you later?" She replies "if you play your cards right..." but then all of a sudden it's "*snort* yeh" 13:43

I just noticed something this episode. For a show essentially about the machinations of lawyers, there is almost no courtroom drama. I love how they made that decision. Any other show would lean hard on those classic courtroom tropes that hit those classic dramatic notes we all kind of expect. Just another layer of why I love this whole series.

James I find your analisis top teer and your choices also and makes me wonder why you haven't turned your trained eye on the films of "Val Newton". Perhaps it's the year made but considering the limitations the studio put on him he made some wonderful artistic films that hold up on viewing to this day. If you haven't seen any of them do so, your "movie mind" will thank you. I'd start with "Cat People". If you read more about the man and the limitations put upon him you understand that the only thing dated about these films are the titles.
